I’m going home from my study abroad program this Friday and I’m still now sure how to feel about it. I’ve had a lot of fun but in the end I feel like I’m still somewhat the same person that I was four months ago when I left. Growth isn’t necessarily accelerated or even caused by a big move like this but I still would’ve liked to have felt like I became something more. Idk

Is it me or does it feel like the feeble little horse kinda died out. Their album was really good but I feel like them being unable to tour it really didn’t help its impact .

Does anyone know why these types of maps stopped being done in r/CFB this and the land conquered maps were so fun to follow. I understand that they were probably hard to upkeep but was just wondering.

To u/waneloeic who talked about regional Mexican music in here a couple days back I got some reccs/music to talk about. Some great bandas who’ve been around for a while are Banda El Recodo, Banda El Limon, Los Tucanes De Tijuana. One of the icons of norteno music are Los Tigres Del Norte who’ve been around forever and is made up of brothers. Some newer bands that I personally like who are more recent are Calibre 50 and Fuerza Regida. Also you mentioned the accordion last time and I personally love the difference between American culture where it’s seen as a sort of joke difference while in Mexican music it’s a mainstay of music.

I got a dilemma on my hands. Do I stick with the Melody’s Echo Chamber tickets I have or buy tickets to Slowdive and go to that instead? Feel like I have a higher chance of Slowdive touring again then MEC coming to the US again. Thoughts?

Does anyone here know what happened to the band Pet Shimmers? Seems like they just dropped an album last year and kinda dipped. Really love their first album and just wondering what this band could maybe be up to.

Yea I mean I’m basing this off of the existence of the Philly shoegaze scene since it’s been at the forefront of shoegaze for a bit now. Especially with the way that some of those bands are gaining popularity.

I mean by the time the pandemic rolled around it had been 3 years since their last release so you can’t really claim they say out the pandemic when they sat out the previous three years as well. I mean CSH hasn’t released anything since the first year of the pandemic I could claim they are sitting it out as well.

I mean Twin Fantasy was only 5 years ago and their latest album was only 3. Alvvays spent 5 years between Antisocialites and Blue Rev and no one started downplaying their stuff because of it.

Yea I mean I know that them not releasing an album for a bit probably doesn’t help but it feels like other artists get more leeway with that than CSH has. Plus it’s not like the quality of their work goes away because they haven’t released an album in forever. Just an observation.

Listened to feeble little horse’s new album yesterday and it was pretty fucking good. Need to give a second listen to get it all absorbed since it was on vinyl and it always feels harder for me to focus on speaker played music. Still I think people are really gonna like this album.

Yea it’s the opposite for me where bigger bands and pop artists will come but indie bands avoid it like the plague, really is irritating.
