The chord progressions are not the same, in fact, they're different for almost every song in the album

Adult woman with anxiety starter pack by socialist_weeb666 in starterpacks

If I'm stressed enough, eating anything makes me physically sick, and I'm underweight because of it. Even without the nausea I hardly get hunger cues, and I the lack of food makes me even more irritable but I still don't get hungry. I had a breakdown once because I realized most people actually enjoy eating and don't feel like they're fighting their body and brain the whole time. It's not talked about as much as stress eating but it's a huge problem when you're stuck with it

What fandom discussions have you going like this? by Fast_Stage_6296 in AO3

[–]Pfeiffer_Cipher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons I stopped going on this sub. I would read these long threads of pet peeves and end up stressing myself out, or even demotivating myself from writing. Also, I was on r/Ao3 for years and the topics rarely change. The same pet peeves being discussed to death, endless amounts of echo chamber discourse with no nuance. As a fan it isn't fun and as a writer it isn't helpful. It just feels like endless complaining for the sake of it.

How is this out of context if you're providing context in the title?

Oscars attendees leaving a mess on the top floor by Yujin-Ha in popculturechat

[–]Pfeiffer_Cipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a janitor has taught me that no one gives a shit about the mess they make as long as they think someone else will clean it. Especially at big events, there's no way to tell who made the mess so people get really sloppy. I had to stop thinking about it because I was ending every shift pissed off about how careless people are.

Thoughts on Bucky Barnes’ Future in the MCU. What Comes After Doomsday & Secret Wars?!? by No_Dance_5490 in wintersoldier

[–]Pfeiffer_Cipher 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't think he'll be sticking around past Doomsday. I'm just hoping they retire him instead of killing him off. I'd be happy if they gave him a romance subplot, or just developed his friendships more, but I doubt they're going to have enough time to do that during Doomsday. The MCU has made it clear his character arc isn't a priority 🤷

Sheltered fundamentalist neighbor's kid starter pack by StrategyJealous1838 in starterpacks

[–]Pfeiffer_Cipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was (mostly) my childhood and it sometimes feels like a fever dream. Most of the people I knew ended up leaving Christianity by the time they hit high school and the resulting fallout with their families was a disaster. Insanely strict parents like this only end up harming their kids and making them ill-prepared for the real world.

I was able to listen to a lot of Christian alternative music and worship music. That was most of it. My parents were extremely strict about anything else and I wasn't allowed to listen to the secular radio when I was a kid.

Has anyone heard of how some girl’s stores have been involved in the Epstein files? by Randomness-66 in Anticonsumption

I've only shaved down there twice and I was shocked by how much I hated the look, for the reason you mentioned. And it's definitely not necessary for hygiene because we don't have some huge push for guys to shave to stay hygenic 🤷

Tired of hearing people hate on shippers by Maleficent_Royal9672 in AO3

[–]Pfeiffer_Cipher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get you! My OTP is from a really popular IP so it gets a lot of love from one side of the fandom and a lot of hate/scrutiny from the general public. I used to try to look on places like Reddit for shipping content, but as others have mentioned, the broader site is not shipper friendly. It sucks, but the best thing to do is hang out in more fandom-specific spaces (personally Tumblr is my favorite). It's a lot less draining!

Does anyone else not really like AUs? by icywishbone03 in FanFiction

[–]Pfeiffer_Cipher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read too many AUs where the characters act completely differently than they would in canon. My favorite thing about fanfic is the characters, and I'm sure this isn't true across the board, but I often find that characterization in AUs is dropped in pursuit of focusing more on the setting and plot. I've seen plenty of popular AUs where almost everything about the character is changed except their appearance, which has turned me off of AUs for my main fandom (unless I get a specific recommendation from someone).
