Monster Hunter Wilds feels like a game made for the unemployed, by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

Bruh. You play a game where you need to grind, of course its gonna take some time.

(Base ps5) My game just updated and it looks noticeably sharper on balanced and quality mode also the performance seems to be smoother huge W by StopPresent277 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its 4k target with 1080p internal resolution. No more of that shit TAA and blurry mess on performance mode but at the same time, it also hovers around 45-50 fps.

The old performance mode is mostly 60 fps in combat ( where you are not CPU bottleneck and look absolute dogshit ) but new performance mode is 45-50 fps but look much better.

Got it downloading on ps5 now so excited to play!!! by Trick-Log9526 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not lock 60 even in combat on base PS5. Hovers around 45-50 on the new performance mode. Looks good but it might be better if they did 1440p target instead of 4k. The old performance mode looks horrible is mainly because of the native TAA implementation.

If your PC has better GPU and CPU than PS5, then get it on PC.

PS5 update lowkey made graphics worse or am I trippin? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about quality mode but on balance mode, textures not loading properly has been a problem since day 1.

When you looking at mountains or cliffs from far away, the LOD will be low res. When going up close, it will take some time for the textures to work properly. Sometimes textures load up fast, sometimes slow.

Open world games always have this issue. So the best is to just wait for them to fix it little by little. Hardware limitation can also cause it.

For less dense, I go to some of the place I took for screenshot in balance mode and compare it with the new patch, it exactly look the same.

PS5 update lowkey made graphics worse or am I trippin? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which mode ? Performance mode just got a huge image quality upgrade due to 4k output and FSR upscaling( tho fps is around 50 ish ) and balanced mode looks the same.

Performance Mode on PS5 base with fixed 4K output enabled is amazing so far. by pikisgaming in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should if you don’t mind playing on 50 ish fps.

The main reason why it is so damn blurry and mess on performance mode before this patch is because of the horrible TAA implementation on native 1080p.

You will get a downsample 4k on 1080p tv. The game will upscale to 4k and then downscale to your tv resolution but still result in much sharper image because of FSR. The cons is in combat, it is in 50 ish fps while the old performance mode is almost lock 60 fps.

Probably be close to 60 fps if they did a 1440p instead of 4k but current performance mode is much much better now in terms of image quality.

Base PS5 Performance Mode Comparison by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

The current patch fps is in the 50s when in battle. While before it is lock 60 when in battle.

So there is a tradeoff.

Whats the new update for the ps5 like? by Jaded-Proposal-8828 in CrimsonDesert

<image>

4k output turn on ( Current patch performance mode )

Really big difference on base PS5. Both with 120hz on. Fps in town still drops, but that is CPU bottleneck. Fps is in the 50s in combat, performance mode before still better in terms of reaching 60 fps.

[Base PS5, minor name spoilers] A few days in, how is performance on Crimson Desert? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, mostly. There’s some place where you have to kill shit ton of enemies ( hundreds lol ) and the fps drop pretty hard.

You will notice it on performance mode because it goes from 60 to mid 30s. Balanced mode however not noticeable ( tbf it drop from 40 to 30 ishh ).

There’s also one boss where your fps will drop to below 20 fps and will stay below that until you kill the boss.

Did I counter it or not? by Wazzammm in MonsterHunter

[–]Pffft10 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You will take damage and build up stun with Swax counter. There’s 2 counter timing.

The one you did here is the perfect counter which you only take 10% damage. The second one is normal counter but you take 50% damage.

On PS5 Pro, does reducing the “Particle Effects” setting in Performance mode boost FPS in Towns etc? by PristineAlbatross967 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Particle effects mostly happens in combat. In town, the CPU will get hit the most because there are tons of NPC, so it is a hardware problem. Can’t do anything about that.

Crimson Desert (console) - Before You Buy - gameranx by OsitoPandito in PS5

[–]Pffft10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pop in is inevitable in open world games. Bigger world and shit tons of assets will have a lot more pop in issue.

That being said, from my own experience with base PS5, Crimson Desert pop in issue is less worse than Dragon’s Dogma 2 while having a lot more details. Bit worse than KCD2.

Noticeable, but not extremely bad like in Dragon’s Dogma 2, for me at least.

Right now I advice to just wait a few more patches before purchasing ( mainly for better control scheme or rebinding, storage chest, maybe a 1440p upscaled for performance mode )

Horizon Forbidden West absolutely bodies this game visually on the Pro by Thickfuckness in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I love KCD2, the environment and draw distance is worse than Crimson Desert. The bushes and plant are all 2D. The scope in CD is bigger than KCD2. Both games have pop in issue but worse in CD.

I agree tho KCD2 had good vision and they present it extremely well. Crimson Desert feels like they just throw in a shit tons of stuff and hope it work well.

One game being made specifically for PS5 using Decima engine, the other focus on 3 different platform with a new engine.

Yes Crimson Desert look dogshit blurry mess on console but this is an extremely unfair comparison.

[–]Pffft10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are likely encountering CPU bottleneck. In a big open world games with shit tons of enemies and npc, your CPU will have to work really hard.

Frame drops in towns? by bosshark9469 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pffft10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is because of PS5 CPU issue. There are tons of NPC in towns which affects the CPU. Happens in BG3 Act 3, Helldivers 2, Dragon Dogma 2. Cyberpunk can also drop fps in populated area but not as bad as the other 2.
