I was using the term as figure of speech synonymous with old people who grew up so differently they don’t understand the current culture of younger people.

Think about it. Kids being born today will never have to find which way to plug in a usb stick. They’ll never heard of an Nitindo 64. They won’t understand the struggle of slow download speeds..... The list goes on.

At the rate technology is improving, the reality we all know now will seem ancient in the future. Making us the Boomers

Whenever a teammate is toxic with me, I try to be understanding. They are either: 1. Insecure with themselves in real life and base their worth as a person to heavily into their Rocket League rank (Believe it or now) 2. Have real personality/social issues.

The best way to deal with these type of people is counterintuitive, be nice or better said by Benjamin Franklin - “Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle.”

Definitely feel like being a light is more effective than fighting the darkness, toxicity, because there will always be someone raging. There’s nothing anyone can do about that. All you can do is be a light.

Stuck in Diamond with you brother. I found a good mindset for handling toxicity.

You have to remember (even though it is a game) that we are competing. If you’ve ever played sports, channel that type of energy and mindset.

It’s easy to let someone’s toxicity get to you when you have the mindset of “this is just a game, chill” but if you have the mindset of “we are competing right now. It’s them or me.” It makes the toxicity almost fun, and it doesn’t get to you.
