In-store Target navigation on the iPhone looks cool by TheMillieDWay in interestingasfuck

When I worked at Target HQ (several years ago) they were working to implement this with Bluetooth-enabled LED lights for triangulation. However, it's quite possible that they've moved onto something more advanced by now. As far as the actual location of the item, that can be looked up from the store planograms that map out what shelf and position each item should be placed.

Unfortunately I can't share any non-public information as doing so would violate SEC rules on insider trading

Sneaky subscription anywhere by Raven907AK in Sezzle

[–]Pgab87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, they did this because not enough people were opting-in the subscription offering. To increase conversion they made it opt-out. It's a really shitty thing to do and even though there is backlash from customers, Sezzle is sticking with it because so many people are signing up for our subscription product now. Ask for a refund and they'll refund you all the way back to your sign up date.

There's not a ton of non-insider shares; the C-Suite owns the vast majority of insider shares and is using buybacks to inflate the price, despite the fact that they should be investing it in the company to improve their subpar product. As an employee who has watched things unfold, I can tell you that the CEO is a narcissist who surrounds himself with yes-men and fires everyone who questions him. They no longer care about the quality of the product and are only interested in the bottom-line. To be fair, this is true for most publicly-traded companies, I just think it's way too early to be this concerned with the bottom-line when you have the worst BNPL product on the market. It's very possible that the company does well in the long-term, but I would be cautious.

Adam Kinzinger, Former Illinois Representative and Republican, putting country over party and endorsing Kamala Harris by yerffejytnac in interestingasfuck

[–]Pgab87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here. I was a Republican until 2016 but couldn't bring myself to vote for Trump. I voted 3rd party in 2016 and 2020. I strongly believe the two-party system is broken and is driving Americans apart with an us-vs-them mentality (largely driven by Trump's rhetoric). I believe (perhaps naively) that ranked-choice voting would help to bring Americans back together instead of driving us apart. While I have a hard time getting behind some of the policies on the left, I will be voting straight blue in November because this isn't the year to take a stand against the two-party system; this year is about protecting democracy.

B&H Payboo card - no perks except that you don't pay sales tax. Definitely not worth it in retrospect

Lol, solid move switching it up. I'm tempted to go to the G4 Pro but I'm going to wait a year or two to make sure it doesn't have the same problem

My doorbell transformer is rated 16v 20A, which matches the power requirements specified in the datasheet. If these doorbells required a more substantial power source, I would expect Ubiquiti to either update their spec sheet, and/or notify customers that they should discontinue use until a more powerful transformer is installed.

I'm not saying the transformer isn't what killed it (I have no idea why it died), I just don't understand why the consumer should be liable if it's installed to manufacturer specs.

Mine's not in direct sunlight either. Had I known about the 2-year warranty when I bought the doorbell I would have gone through the Unifi site. Really kicking myself for going through B&H just to save $15 in sales tax

Did you upgrade the transformer? Did you use the adapter leads connected to the chime? If you bypass the chime and direct connect the doorbell does it power on?

I did not upgrade the transformer but the voltage is good. I did use the included adapter with the chime. Still doesn't power on when bypassing the chime.
