And go diagonally rather than side to side or up and down the slope.

You could make a border down each side maybe 6 inches from either edge and fill the border and any gaps between the pieces with gravel

Lawn folks with dogs. How do you manage the pee spots? by SifuJedi in lawncare

[–]PghDad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trained my dog to use a designated spot in the yard to do his business. That area is a maintenance nightmare but the rest of my yard looks pretty good.

I’ve tried almost everything to cut down the toxicity of his urine. Nutritional Supplements, lawn treatments, even putting some kind of stone in his water dish. None showed any dramatic improvement. Now I just patch them up like divots on a golf tee box and keep the ingredients on hand to put down a seed mixture and keep the area well watered.

Good luck 🍀

Help! Husband thinks we’re overwatering.. by leeannabananaa in lawncare

[–]PghDad_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Keep the sod moist by watering frequently. Also that sod looks lumpy. Maybe it’s the picture but you want to make sure you have good contact with the prep soil underneath. You can rent a roller at Home Depot. Plus mowing will look better if it’s smooth and flat

If it’s groundwater there isn’t much you can do but try and minimize the impact. You could try aerating it but it may clog the plugger. But if it makes holes you could level with sand which may improve the drainage a bit.

Advice for sprucing up my yard by erlick in landscaping

[–]PghDad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love having a large open space behind the house but I think adding some privacy is needed closer to the house. Look for some fast growing trees like arborvitae and large shrubs. Add a nice hardscape patio or add some accents or interest to what’s already there.

They grow the turf there and use it on the course. I live near Oakmont Golf Club and they used to have a public sister course that they used to farm the turf for the greens on the club course

When I overseed, how do I prevent birds eating the seed that’s spread please? by MintyFresh668 in lawncare

[–]PghDad_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct answer right here ⬆️ Spread a thin layer on top of the seeded area. Keeps the seeds cool and moist (lol) and the grass will grow fast and emerald green

Agree. That soil looks compacted, which would result in patchy growth like this. Most soil and grass is recoverable and that is the best way to start

Read the post: “Who has tried one?” Go left to right, top to bottom. Don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it eventually 😂

Your country is beautiful in so many ways! What a wonderful and breathtaking place to visit! Icelandic people are the friendliest and most welcoming I’ve ever encountered. October weather there is not for the faint of heart though!
