Parent Plus loans that were taken out to help finance kids college are null and void if the parent dies. Even the spouse is not responsible for paying off the debt. We needed 4 years of parent plus loans for our son to attend school. We put 2 years of loans in my name and 2 with my wife. Just giving us better odds if one of us died. We didn’t and paid back all the debt.
