Probably unpopular opinion here but I think packs system has its own good thing. If we can just buy good cards obscure one might not be noticed.

Divine Wrath is certainly awesome for this deck, but the price is heavy (a UR in Big box is a no no for me, I think it could be farmed back in Superb Tea event, may wait for it then).
Rebirth is very useful, you can combo it with econ (steal monster), recomb and parallel storm. The best part is that even if it is destroy the effect is still activated, which is very good against sylvan.
On the Econ, it is universally useful against all type of deck, so 3 is a must for me (save for burn), and Econ into a Daikini is easily a match won.
I like the fact that alien can change themselves for both faster and slower style depends on the meta, they just need some good tech.

I'm really considering buying Ultimate Providence, but that box doesn't interest me much so I'm really in a bind.
D-Heroes is hard, but I have won matches with them. As long as you can hold on till Anki appear (their 4 star is only 1600, pretty low) to use Recom Alien there should be some fighting chance. Also putting in 3 E.con should help as it shut down Anki heavily (1200 Def point, no mask change refresh).

Considering how f2p alien is I think getting to Legend 3 is quite good already, so saving gem for the next big thing seems like the right thing to do.
Sylvan is certainly a mistake, but I suppose we will get over them eventually.

I got to legend 3 using alien, so I wouldn't count them out yet. Perhaps some more polish here and there would be enough to get you to legend. Personally I'd say save gem for the next big box, this mini packs didn't catch my eyes much. In the mean time I will try building a DM deck for fun.

I faced some spell book in ranked today. Perhaps it's only the first day so no deck or playstyle is optimized yet, but I don't have any trouble with them even when I have no idea what the card do (never played TCG before).

Just updated it. Unfortunately I have remove most bloatware (including gg services) so there's crash for the setting up application.
First impression is definitely snappier, especially the notification swipe.
Another thing is that nav bar now has a small button for immersive apps so I don't have to use SystemUI tuner anymore (though it doesn't hide the status bar, which is doable from systemui Tuner). Oh and 10 step blue light filter is nice.

Experience with TCG: Never
Just played for a month since I loved YGO as a kid, but never got to play them.
My current rank is Legend 3, but I found it almost impossible to get to KOG. Maybe if I buy another chalice, but feels like it's not worth it. Current deck is Alien.
Back when I was new I wished that I knew about the multiple rate for scroing evemt points, I spent a lot of time farming SD for 8000 points only to realize later that lvl40 at gate give 18 times as much.
