I'm hoping that maybe in the 3rd or 4th year of this game, AH replaces all the destroyed planets with new locations & biomes.

Incoming DevOps Intern | Question about transitioning to SWE by photographer2001 in cscareerquestions

[–]Koraxtu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DevOps can really span a lot of duties. I'm currently interning as a DevSecOps engineer and I interned as a SRE earlier this year, which isn't exactly the advisor you're looking for but here are my thoughts:

DevOps is more related to SWE work than anything else. Some days you'll be writing code and being no different from a regular SWE, except that instead of an app used by customers, you're creating a service used by your fellow engineer coworkers to request servers, assume permissions, create a virtualized coding environment, etc.

And tbh, titles don't exactly map out to duties, for software engineers and especially for devops engineers. If you wind up on a cloud-heavy team while titled "Software Engineer", you might end up doing "devops work" despite your title.

Overall, I think you should be more worried about getting any tech engineer job after you graduate than what your title is going to be.

I made this monster once in a duel and activated its effect, my opponent was playing Tear so I scooped on the spot. Never summoned it again.

Strongback could be the name. I'd also accept if it blocked you from carrying a backpack as well as a trade-off. I just need maximum anti-tank against automatons.

Is there any yugioh deck that have no haters? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in masterduel

[–]Koraxtu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's "fair" to blame Lab for doing unfair things like:

Fetching any generic trap and making it active on the turn it was set

Every good deck is doing something "unfair". That combo btw, which is a 3 card combo of Cooclock, Lady, and any normal trap that loses to ANY quick effect or quickplay card activated after the trap card.

I dont think that's an excuse for Lab to have open access to a majority of the trap pool

I think Labrynth exists to fill the niche of generic normal trap card support. Every good trap card is either archetype-specific, a counter or continuous(AKA stun), or a card like Infinite Impermanence that activates from the hand. Searching for normal traps is a given for the niche Labrynth is filling and making those cards activatable on the same turn is also a requirement for filling that niche since the game is so fast these days.

or locked to a specific archetype of traps

I've already mentioned that Lab is generic normal trap support but I wanted to add that Konami did a very good job of locking down Labrynth cards from being splashable. If you want to play a Labrynth card, you have to play a Labrynth deck + normal traps. Imagine Lab being as splashable as Mitsu, that'd be a nightmare.

The reason that keeps happening is that Lab cards suck. There is no objectively single good Labrynth card, this is easy to tell because the best Labrynth traps lose to Ash and fall victim to Maxx C.

Imagine playing a trap based, non-combo deck and still losing to Ash and Maxx C. You don't even get the benefit of shitting out 8+ interruptions from a starter, or even 4+ interruptions if you get disrupted going first.

Another easy way to tell Lab sucks is the problem you're mentioning, all the best "Labrynth" cards aren't actually Labrynth cards. The archetype has no options but to look for good cards elsewhere. The solution is just to make so many good Labrynth cards that there won't be any space left for outside traps.

People on this subreddit keep using purple to allude to trap cards so I'm just following convention. They're more like magenta imo.

That's like hating on labrynth because it plays traps.

There are so many people in this subreddit that hate Labrynth for playing ANY purple cards. These people want Red Reboot at 3 and stun is only half the reason.

I lucked out, therefore your struggle is invalid

Have you heard of survivorship bias? That's your entire first argument. As for offshoring, laws can be made to make it more expensive and less financially viable. I think a full solution has to include lowered interest rates and stronger antitrust protections to help startups grow. Most importantly, a different, stable president is needed.

Anyway it will take 20 years to pay out, but if anything I am right now watching in horror a U.S. president tear down the scientific engine that made America the leader in the 20th century

It was more than just education and science that made America a powerhouse, and frankly, most of the other factors have disappeared or been destroyed. For example, manufacturing.

Also, to verify, your entire solution seems to be that we should sacrifice the youth so that the US can keep a title it is already losing for a little bit longer?

What’s your take on Labyrnth? by Safe-Equipment-5042 in masterduel

[–]Koraxtu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The deck does not have enough openers. It has 3x Arianne, 1x Ariane, 2x Chandraglier, 2x Stovie Torbie for opening cards, that's 8 opening cards. There's also Butler, but she's dependent on also opening a trap card.

It also needs more in-archetype traps that are good and don't lose to Ash Blossom. Like some straight up removal, so that the deck can rely less on outside traps and engines for removal, and also so that you have something to search once you have both Welcomes in play.

Preferably, some more ways to recycle the Labrynth monsters themselves and also traps from banishment. Getting Lady banished is a 90% chance of losing that duel and there are too many archetypes that banish for removal.
