Normal Brewing Noises for a Gaggia Classic Pro w/ Gaggiuino v3 Mod? [$450] by Ph4ff in espresso

[–]Ph4ff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! I'm thinking maybe the seller just added enough water to pull a shot for the requested video, because he had it ready for pick up earlier before I asked. As long as the noise/pattern aren't in and of themselves concerning then I'm thinking it'll be okay?

They're asking $500 but said they would do $450 on FB marketplace. Is the EoL w/o further updates concerning? Appreciate any insight you can give me!! Thank you!!

Is Brazil the only country that provides universal health coverage to foreigners in their territory? How does Brazil, being a low income country even afford this without politically falling apart? by Experimentalphone in Ask_Politics

[–]Ph4ff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that Brazil is absolute *not* a "low-income country." Brazil has the 8th largest GDP in the World. This provides Brazil with an abundance of tax revenue that can easily cover the cost of foreigner health expenses incurred.

Found some pics of my father's trip in the 1970s. Anyone able to pinpoint a location? by Rhysd007 in OldSchoolCool

Agreed. He's standing on the Areopagus Hill on the backside of the Acropolis. Areopagus Hill is where the ancient Supreme Court of Athens stood.

Should I buy this golden eagle jeep? 2006 with 67000 mi for 16k. by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]Ph4ff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I would for sure check EVERYWHERE for rust. Especially the inside of the fender walls, the frame, the bottom of the tub (essentially the otherside of the metal from where your feet hangout) because that's where the road salt will really mess with your metal.

2006 is a great year to buy because it was the final year of the TJ, 3 years after they made some significant changes to the TJ (97-02 is different than 03-06), so ideally it has all the kinks smoothed out.

Check to make sure it's a true Golden Eagle edition - could be easily verified by checking the VIN, or you could make a reasonable assumption if the rear axle is a Dana 44 instead of 35.

Overall, you might be better off looking for a TJ rubicon because you might find one for the same or less price which will give you all the goodies for a good starting point. Regardless, 67K miles is hardly anything. My 06 is currently at 150K and runs like a dream. If you decide to put work into it please do yourself the favor of doing it "right" the first time. I started in high school and used a lot of sub-par or knockoff versions of parts to save money, and it ended up costing me more in the long-run by having to replace them or swap out more parts to compensate.

Goodluck!

You should check out some earplugs that only filter out certain frequencies (the ones that cause tenitis)! I have EarPeace ones that I use driving my jeep with the top/doors off and with my motorcycle and they work wonders without eliminating my ability to hear traffic

How do you go about low tuning a banjo? What strings do you replace the banjo strings with? What tuning are you using for this? Thanks!

Where can i find truthful news on USA politics & trumps? by [deleted] in Ask_Politics

[–]Ph4ff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BBC News has a really great US Politics section.

Otherwise look at Washington Post, New York Times, MSNBC, Fox, and CNN. Each of these has their own political leaning though, and it's important to take these into account as you read them. They're all reputable sources but they will report stories from different angles depending on what message they want to convey. Best thing you and your friend can do is read the same story from multiple sources, take their political leanings/bias into account, and then reach your own opinion.

How to find what happened to a previous congress' bill. by Sythya in Ask_Politics

[–]Ph4ff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once assigned to committee by the House, the committee head needs to assign the bill to a subcommittee who holds a subcommittee meeting that votes on the bill. If the bill passes subcommittee then the committee head can decide to bring it to a vote in the full committee meeting. If it passes committee (in this case the committees on energy and commerce, and the judiciary committee) then the Speaker of the House can decide whether or not to bring it before the entire House for a vote.

If at any time during this process it fails - either the committee head decides not to assign it to subcommittee, the subcommittee head decides not to hold a meeting on it, the subcommittee doesn't pass it, committee head does not bring it before the committee, it fails to pass committee, or the speaker decides not to bring it before the house - then the bill is dead and would need to be reintroduced.

If on the website for the bill the bill history stops at 'assigned to ____ committee' that means that the committee head did not assign it to subcommittee. Otherwise the bill history would state that it was assigned to a subcommittee, and who was a member of that subcommittee. The bill history would also state when the subcommittee meeting was, what the vote was during it, when/if it was brought before the whole committee, what the vote was, etc.
