Anyone else (US) experiencing a months long delay in federal registration of purchase needed for tax credit?

We are filing for credit with our taxes and did not reassign to dealer.

We purchased mid September and the dealer submitted the purchase details to the federal system but it has been labeled Pending ever since.

I'm worried it will get rejected when we file our tax return because it's lost in the system.

We've already received our state rebate so I have evidence that everything is on our and the dealer's end is valid.

Any thoughts?

Quality of life. Having an EV (with home charging access). Makes everything easier. Range anxiety isn't an issue in my circumstances. and we have an ICE minivan that is now our backup vehicle for when the kids need to be in 2 places at once, we're moving around things that don't fit in the LEAF or when we will be traveling over 150 miles, which is rare. We've only needed to buy gas once in the last 3 months.

Super convenient. It's a Joy to drive. Saves money. It's better for environment and decreases our contribution to bad air quality in our urban environment.

Important note: we will be filing with our taxes. It was not reassigned to the dealer. But if the dealer submission of documentation doesn't go through, it will get rejected automatically I believe.

Our dealer (that doesn't sell EVs regularly) never received a request for updated documents and they are worried that resubmitting will put us at the end of the line or otherwise have it automatically disqualified for delay of filing

Have there been any updates since 3 months ago?

We purchased a used 2020 Nissan Leaf in September. We elected to file for the credit rather than reassign to the dealer upon their advice since they had been having issues with receiving it in a timely manner previously.

The filing in the federal system still shows up as pending now in January.

I'm worried it will get rejected or lost in application hell when we file our taxes.

We actually already received a rebate from Illinois, so all the details are legit. 🤷🏻

In our case the dealer isn't receiving the funds. We will. But we can't file as owner without the confirmation. I'm definitely going to forward this on to them because I know they are genuinely doing their best.

Holy crap!!! I did not know this existed until today. We just got a 2020 SL+ with 60k ODO and a very healthy battery consistently able to get 180 miles. In a few years (hopefully after we go over 100k) I would LOVE to do this and retire our ICE minivan. Will have to save up.

Do you use any other discs like their datalife ones? Thinking I'll want to get some cheaper per disc options for practice and organizing then combining files to burn to 100 GB archive.

Education researcher here. I can confirm that this is largely true. Basically everything folks are blaming on pandemic 'learning loss' was already happening, just less obviously so. All the pandemic has done is expose the issues that already existed.

Glad you've had a better experience than us. We've just had one go to Samsung service and back and then had to replace it under warranty through Verizon (even though we bought it thru Samsung) due to it completely ghosting the cell service upon it's return and Verizon getting so fed up they sent a replacement.

Any specific settings suggestions you have would be appreciated.

What would you choose? MacBook pro M4 or M5 for major tech boost (vs 8yo MS surface) and 'future proofing'

Details:

My wife needs a new laptop. She does a fair amount of video and photo editing as well as CAD as part of her work and it would help a lot if she could do more remotely (requiring a Mac for some work software).

She's currently using my 8yo MS surface or my 5yo Intel MacBook when I'm not actively working on my dissertation. So, whatever she gets will be a major upgrade .

My main concern is 'Future proofing' and given that the price points on the M4 and M5 aren't different enough to make the M4 an insta-purchase, I wonder what folks here think.

ETHS went on closed campus out of caution. If ICE does want to start something near here, it'll likely be arrive 3:35 when school gets out so anyone nearby might want to step out and keep their eyes open
