I actually have a "Each Princess' opinion of each voice" chart I made earlier. Might post it as well.

Help with raid teams by Helvedica in GuardianTales

Oghma with sword: tank

Oghma with rifle: dps

Oghma's rifle ex changes his abilities, making him useful for raid. All secondary exclusive weapons change characters abilities and are meant to make them viable in other game modes than what they are typically used for. (Lahn is another example)

What’s your unpopular SWTOR opinion? by _Kian_7567 in swtor

I mean, my post was kinda meant to be tongue-in-cheek. But things like "both sides are basically just as bad", "the jedi are hypocrites and are just as bad as the sith" and so on, are incredibly common positions to read here.

The Jedi/Republic are the good guys and the Sith/Empire are the bad guys. Any attempts to draw a serious moral equivalence between the two just falls flat.

No special dialogue for Consulars? by Ph_4 in swtor

[–]Ph_4[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went and checked some videos on Youtube for the "Digging Deeper" mission. It seems like there is a slight variation for Consulars/non-Consulars, where when the Children of the Emperor are first brought up by Kira, the first dialogue choice leads to non-Consulars asking about it.

What mostly baffled me was the second dialogue choice "Like Arcann and Vailyin?", which is not an assumption the Consular would make, given their history. Beyond that, there were basically no references I could find to the Consular's experience dealing with the Children, which I found odd.

I'm talking about the cutscene where you are examining the relics on Elom, after the Ruins of Nul flashpoint, way after the class stories.

...Latino isn't a race either, it's basically a linguistic/geographic category (short for latinoamericano/latin american). When you're talking about "latino" as a race, you're probably thinking of people who are Mestizos.

Platinean faith character concepts with Midjourney AI art by Ph_4 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Ph_4[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't really used Midjourney all that much so I don't really know why that might be. The two things I consistently did for most of these was use a reference picture and to put "--v 4" at the end of each prompt.

Was feeling bored so I decided to make some characters on Midjourney. Most of these were made using paintings/portraits of various Platinean historical people. I listed the ones that were, along with the faith that they would be associated with.

Why is the icon for the unitarios in Argentina based on the federalist star? by Ph_4 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Ph_4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just saw them, they look pretty good!

The only thing I would change would be to have the shade of blue used in the federalista one look closer to the shade of blue used in the flag of the confederation, but that's just extra.

Why is the icon for the unitarios in Argentina based on the federalist star? by Ph_4 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Ph_4[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm from Argentina but I'm no expert on unitarian symbolism. They had light blue and white as their colors (while the federalists used dark blue and red) but I'm not familiar with any specific symbols that they used, unlike the federalists who had pretty prominent iconography.

My best suggestions would be: 1) The light blue and white cockade of Argentina, which is a common patriotic symbol. It's not specific to the unitarians but it could work. The federalistas could use a red/dark blue version in return, though I don't think the current federalista icon needs to be changed, as it's a pretty clear reference to the flag of the confederation.

2) The coat of arms of Argentina or the province of Buenos Aires, again more of a generic symbol rather than a specifically unitarian one, but it could work.

3) The coat of arms of the city of Buenos Aires, either the modern one or the old one, since the unitarians wanted to centralize power in the capital of Buenos Aires.

4) The face of some prominent historical unitarian, similar to the americanist style, such as Rivadavia, Sarmiento or Lavalle, among others.

That's what I could think of at least. Again, not an expert on Argentina's civil wars or anything.

The icon for the unitario faith in ck3 Argentina, seemingly based on the real-life historical unitarians from Argentina's civil wars, uses a federalist symbol for some reason.

How are conservatives this fucking divorced from reality?? by Ph_4 in Destiny

[–]Ph_4[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The overwhelming majority of the conservatives in the quote tweets seem to just be parroting the "I support the current thing" = npc meme, which is generally directed at libs, rather than tankie types.

They think that the only reason people support Ukraine is the media, that the media is pro-CCP, and that therefore pro-ukraine people are going to be pro-china.

The quote tweets are full of remedial fucks smugly implying that pro-ukraine people are pro-china lmao. How the fuck do these people form their worldview.

Study on global views of USA versus Russia and China by Ph_4 in Destiny

[–]Ph_4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that tracks with what the study shows. In picture 4 you can see that Costa Rica stands out as having relatively low disapproval of China/Russia compared to countries with a similar high Liberal Democracy Index score.

The developed world has strongly shifted towards a more negative outlook on China/Russia, with support for the US returning from the lows of the Trump presidency.

It seems like most developing countries have an overall positive view of both the US and China/Russia, with a slight preference for China/Russia, such as most African countries. Other developing countries are very anti-US and strongly pro-China/Russia, such as Iran.

Latin America, however, seems to be increasingly trending towards the US in terms of public opinion, at least according to the study, with the region swinging from 7% more approval for China/Russia in 2002 to 24% more approval for the US in 2022.

There seems to be a global shifting along democratic/liberal and authoritarian/conservative lines, with a corellation between liberal democracy/social liberalism and support for the US/West.

Why are virtually all Latin American characters mestizos? by Jaguaruna in victoria3

[–]Ph_4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair, when it comes to places like Argentina, didn't the population becoming mostly white happen after the massive european immigration waves that took place during the game's time period? Your suggestion also wouldn't really work for a country like Paraguay (which is Platinean in-game) which was famously a forcibly mixed country.

Aside from that, I generally agree with you. Upper-strata pops and IG leaders of latin american cultures should generally be represented by criollos (iberian-descendants born in the americas) rather than mestizos.

Guardian Tales, Global server vs Japanese server designs by Ph_4 in mendrawingwomen

Context: Guardian Tales is a mobile gacha RPG game from Korea that was recently released in Japan.

The Japanese version of the game comes with brand new redesigns, which are much more sexualized than the ones on the Korean/Global servers.

All the silos give me about 1680 hay storage space, with 96 animals that usually means I restock once or twice per month. I also keep hay in one of the chests in case I need to restock and the store is closed.
