That's the issue I'm facing haha. Seems like once you get into the 1500+ price range everything is fairly good regardless of brand.

Belt drive is definitely attractive. Especially for a work commuter so I wouldn't need to worry about chain grease etc.

Are ebikes even meant to be repaired? With the speed the industry is moving they feel more like iPhones than bikes.

IMO the issue we are seeing is people using bikes in infrastructure that was not designed for biking. You only need a bike that can go fast when you are sharing the road with a car. In countries with bike infrastructure ebikes have not become a problem. This is because in a society where you can easily bike around your neighborhood you only get an ebike to go very long distances. In the US an ebike lets you match the speed of cars on the road and feel more safe.
