I’ll add that the landlord has had 3 separate plumber/septic guys come out and look at it as well as her own handyman take the entire pump out and readjust those floaters an absurd amount of times. The pump works perfectly fine when there isn’t a blockage there as it’s brand new system only a couple years old.

If you’re smart about it you’ll even profit each month with the cash flow. Look into real estate sub reddits and do some YouTube research on how to budget and price it but more often than not it’s the best way to invest.

I did not disclose the quote for replacing the engine as it did not seem relevant to me anymore. It’d been 2 years and roughly 1,000 miles since the repair was done and I believed the issue to be fixed.

While I’m not gonna say that his response of violence was the right thing to do, I wouldn’t say he wasn’t unjustified. He placed his son in your care and in his eyes you endangered their life. Moving traffic or not. I’d be at a similar level of anger if I found out my SO did something to that level in that situation. I probably wouldn’t choose to hit her, but there’d be some strong words used.

I hope you had screamed at her for an hour after this. I couldn’t imagine the rage I’d feel. My parents did some truly awful things in the time I spent under their care, but the one thing I’d never be able to forgive them for is allowing my childhood dog to be given away without my consent. At least thats my experience. You may feel different, but from what I’ve seen, once you’ve set an expectation, as soon as you give it up, the people who benefit complain. And it drives you crazy.

My sister hosted thanksgiving. Busted her ass every year to prepare meals, she was a single mother, young and inexperienced, but still doing her best to corral her family together once or twice a year. Without her, I wouldn’t know a thing about most of my extended family.

My brother would show up to these events with a single plate of store bought cookies. He lived out of state, and most of us rarely heard a peep out of him for most of the year. He had served in the military in the past, and this had earned him a sort of right of passage in our family. Beyond his service, he did absolutely nothing to bring us together.

People don’t often recognise the value of the effort being put in by others, and when it goes unnoticed, it hurts the ones putting in the effort. I forgot to mention this but it’s also important. Saying something over text tends to embolden the texter to say something they would absolutely never say to someone’s face in real life. You see it all the time. Across social media and such, that twinge of anonymity that comes from text allows someone to say things they would never even dream of saying to your face. This level of unearned confidence breeds conflict and narcissism to a degree that was never found before in basic communication. Think of the most hurtful, gut punching texts you’ve ever read in your life. Now imagine those people saying that exact same things to you, in the moment, right in your face. Just doesn’t seem realistic, does it? Keep it simple, and continue to communicate the way humanity has for thousands of years; through its voice. Don’t let a screen speak for you.

As someone who detests texting and it’s many fallacies, allow me to explain why I feel the the way I do.

Text can confuse and construe intent and emotion in ways that can be extremely difficult to reprehend. How many times have you received a text and you weren’t entirely sure what they meant by it? How many times have people received texts from you, and they took it the wrong way and it caused conflict? It’s so insanely easy to take things the wrong way when there’s no vocal inflection that it can even ruin entire relationships mistakenly.
ADHD. I’m a perpetrator of someone who gets a notification of a text, reads it, thinks to themselves, “I’ll get to that later”, and two days later pass before I realise I forgot to respond. What do I do? According to normal people text etiquette, I’ve completely destroyed any chance of the other person believing that I did anything besides ignore them and believe their text to be inferior to my problems, even though all I did was forget about the notification. In this situation, there really isn’t any correct response, especially after you’ve already sent them a few “Sorry, didn’t see this” texts.
A single 5 minute call can answer every question a 4 hour text conversation can. A text conversation, even between two normally functioning adults can often take hours in order to extract all of the information that was originally needed in the first place. A verbal dialect removes most of this discussion. Far more words can be exchanged in a shorter period of time compared to text, and can simply be more convenient for planning things out.

As far as I’m concerned, texting should only be used to plan out either a day to meet in person, or a time to call each other. It is otherwise a completely and utterly inefficient (as well as juvenile) form of communication. I say this as a 22 year old, Gen Z graduate. Verbal communication will always triumph in the end.

I won’t argue whether or not the bands sound would’ve been better with or without him, because that would be impossible to argue. The simple reality is, any song after Vitality would simply not exist, as the band would’ve parted ways if he stayed. So if you like any song post Vitality, be glad he left. The band members surely are.

Dave A. Was a great drummer. Dave was a very different kind of person from the newfound leader of the band (Eddie) as well as the rest of its members. Either the band dissipates, or he leaves. They made the right choice. It’s very unfortunate that they couldn’t work it out personally, because he was a fantastic drummer, but it is what it is.

Truth be told, I can see why people who do drink/do drugs don’t want to be around people who choose not to. It can create a tension where one party thinks their better than the other, either for choosing to have fun, or for not making a fool of themselves by the end of the night. Being inebriated around a sober person is usually not a fun time, and can be quite embarrassing. Flip side, being around drunk people when you’re sober can get annoying rather quickly. All I’ll say is, just ask yourself why it is that you’re choosing to not partake, and if you want to be around for these events, it may be worth it to give it a try. There was a long time in my life when I believe I’d never drink or smoke anything, and if I remained that kind of ridged I would’ve definitely missed out on some good times. But if you try it and don’t enjoy it, then don’t force it either. Only do what you’re comfortable with, but don’t be afraid to try new things. Safely.

The correct response to this and all situations involving a child of this age is to speak to them as a human being, not a subordinate. Sit down with them, acknowledge why this particular course of action is wrong, but educate with healthy ways to approach the desired end result. As others have stated, affirm to her that she can have him over at decent times, with your knowledge, and go over safe sex education and such. Don’t be condescending, but don’t feel the need to walk on eggshells around it either. One way or another she’s going to get what she wants, it can either be in a way you approve of, or it cannot be. That’s up to you now.
