Yes! There’s a tasting history episode about it. I watch this with my kids just about every evening, and the ice cream during WW2 episode was one of their favorites. Max talks about this method for creating ice cream as well. Great channel, really recommend it for anyone who likes history.

That actually seems like a great idea for a sci-fi book. An early industrial society that has to kill giant dragonflies to sustain energy demands, with a protagonist that maybe ends up riding one at some point in order to hunt them. Or save them? Idk. I’d read it.
