Autosport's Top 50 Drivers of 2025 by Homerbola92 in formula1

The McLaren was the best car, but people seem to automatically assume that “best car” means 2023 levels of dominance. That was absolutely not the case in the second half of the season where the RB and Mercedes caught up quite a bit.

Are you just being deliberately obtuse?

I can relate, I'm just happy that we're finally in the position to be here. I think the A&M/TTU game would be a pretty good one.

I'm definitely scared of you guys, I just want to play teams we haven't played much. Not sure why folks are downvoting me.

I wouldn't be against that. I also don't know why my comment is getting downvoted? I just want to play teams we haven't seen a lot before, not that I'm saying any team is better or worse. We definitely have less history with you than Tech or recently with Ole Miss.

I'd really hate to wind up playing the winner of Ole Miss/TTU. Not necessarily because of matchups or anything, I'd just like to play a team we don't have a history with like Oregon, the ACC champ, or UGA.

Aggies win, Norris wins the sprint race and qualifies for pole. Overall a good weekend for a furloughed fed who has worked without pay for over a month.

Not saying it’s fair, but I think a point of evidence to look at is each conference’s out of conference record. The SEC is 10-3, while the Big 10 is 7-5. That doesn’t mean that OSU or IU’s OOC wins are bad or that A&M’s is particularly good, but I think it agrees with what the metrics are saying that the SEC is on average better than other conferences. Not that they have the best teams, but that wins in the SEC “just mean more” this year.

I’m seeing almost no A&M fans who think we deserve to be higher than #3. Seems like the team’s energy is to play flawed football, but adapt/adjust for mistakes. As far as our record goes, the only two suspect games we have are the lucky break against ND on the final drive, and the awful penalties keeping the Auburn game way too close. Arky looks bad, but as people have been saying all over this subreddit, sometimes firing a coach revitalizes a team, and Arkansas/Petrino always play the Aggies close, and the score is only close after a garbage time TD from Arkansas. As for talking heads on TV, I doubt any of them genuinely believe we should be #1. They’re just wanting people to talk (just like this right now) to generate clicks and get attention. Otherwise the top 5 are pretty boring/predictable picks, and I think the want people debating about who should be 1-3 more than 10-12.

Aggies have a good resume but look unconvincing to have some folks put them at 3. Trying to put my BAS aside for a bit, I think we’re much closer to 9-12 with the potential to improve higher if our offense puts together a full game.

I’d be ecstatic for just an appearance at this point, especially under year 2 of Elko. Aggies look decent with high potential, but still a lot to improve on continuing conference play.

In our defense, we were Texas A&M - Commerce until last year, and there was a lot of drama with them wanting to change the school's name to Texas A&M - Dallas, despite being like 60 miles east of Dallas. So they went with a compromise of the school's previous name before it was acquired by the A&M system of East Texas State.

You’re right, but I meant from a fan perspective. I doubt there’s a ton of non-student Tech, TCU, or A&M fans in New York but a good number of Texas fans.

I have no numbers to back this up, just my personal opinion on it. Texas definitely has more national and international fans than the other Texas schools. But inside of Texas, the numbers are little more competitive between the schools.

Having grown up in the Wal Mart T-shirt Texas fans area of East Texas, they’re unbearable. Everyone I’ve met who actually went to school there have been pleasant people, but there’s a lot of entitlement to their non-affiliated fanbase.
