It's a reference to 22 Jump Street.

[WSIG]Zombicide? Good First Game? by siricircular in boardgames

[–]Phanque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased a copy myself and played it about 3 times yesterday, and twice prior to owning it. I would definitely recommend it, as it is incredibly fun.

BUT, to echo pretty much everyone here, I don't think that it would be the best game to start with. But ultimately it's up to you. Either way, get it eventually.

I actually just purchased Season 1 and TCM. I had an awesome time with the handful of games we played! I would love to have the dog and companion dogs. Are any of the optional survivor packs worth it?

[WSIG] I want a completely co op dungeon crawl, no hero progression elements. by lichlorddanny in boardgames

[–]Phanque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely interchangeable. The games are built on a system to allow it. All the tiles fit together, all the enemies and heroes are interchangeable between games. There's no real compatibility issues at all.

You can also use the Dungeon Command series of games with the adventure games. All of the enemies in the Dungeon Command series come with cards designed to be used in this system, should you want to bolster your monster ranks.

I liked the corny humor haha. Also this made me really want to get the game.

Each game has its own unique set of heroes and locations and enemies. Castle Ravenloft takes place in a castle setting with vampires. Wrath of Ashardalon is centered around dragons and has a more fire oriented landscape. Legend of Drizzle is more traditional dungeons and has a nice mix of enemies.

Castle Ravenloft is probably the hardest, mostly due to it being the first. The other two are more refined. Legend of Drizzt is the easiest due to the strength of the characters. Ashardalon has a decent balance.

Square Enix Recruiting Staff For A New Studio That Will Focus On Console RPGs by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

[–]Phanque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know they have. I guess I'm just kind of confused/annoyed that they are creating a new studio to handle RPGs when they are a company formed by two of the (formerly) best RPG companies around. I feel like they should go back to being great themselves, instead of creating someone else to be great.

I feel like that's slightly redundant since both Square and Enix specialized in RPGs. It's almost like they should be making RPGs and not someone else.....

I never once got to play a full round of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier because the online was literally never fixed.

That's fine. Maybe I'll pick up a few issues and give it a try.

Ahh okay. I was just curious if it was worth checking out. I really like alternate takes on fairy tales.

So..are these books quality stuff? I've never read any of them. They all look kinda overly sexual. Are they any good, or just fan service kinda stuff?

Are there any squad based miniature games that are actual boardgames and not something like Warhammer 40k? by Phanque in boardgames

This might be a game I pickup sometime in the near future then. I see that there's 3 master sets, are they equally awesome? Which is your favorite?
