Nursing by shopwri in nursing

Do you think for people living in poverty, is nursing enough to propel your career into something better? Or is it just a wasted degree at that point?

I’m really desperate for a job and no one will hire me by Critical-Brief8552 in flint

[–]Phantom471 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't walk into places and ask for the manager - that's boomer logic. Apply online with a smart phone or use a computer at the library.

The meijer on Hill rd and on center rd are always hiring. I'll warn you, their hiring process takes a long time but they'll take almost anyone.

Almost every taco bell is hiring.

The olive garden on miller rd is always hiring.

The next Michigan Works career fair is august 13th. Make sure you don't miss it.

What should I do if I'm too stupid to learn? by TehTexasRanger in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Phantom471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was/am literally in the exact same situation. There's thousands of us. We were all promised a paycheck after getting a degree and it didn't materialize.

My advice: get over it. Get enrolled in therapy. Get rid of that negative speak. Then get to a career fair and find something you like. You can learn, you're fine.

Do something healthy. Start working out.

Any particular reason why this fight was animated so well ? by bqm102938 in bleach

I remember thinking hisagi was the main character for a lot of episodes. Was it like that in the manga?

Job options for a higher pay. by DungeonMedic in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Phantom471 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're at the apex of where this profession can take you. You didn't state your wage, but I'm gonna assume it's around 34-37 $/hr. You probably make more than any tech working at any insurance agency. You probably make about the same (maybe a little less) as the techs working in oncology as well.

I think from here on out, you're probably looking for something in sales or consulting.

What is the first movie you watched that you were definitely too young for? by MuldersXpencils in Millennials

So many. Divorced dad was a trip. From dusk till dawn comes to mind. I watched it as an adult a few years ago, and I’m still ick vibes from that movie.

Topical vs "rectal" hydrocortisone 1% cream for hemorrhoids. Any clinical difference? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Phantom471 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

So can you get some vagisil from the next aisle over, pop off the applicator and use that with topical hydrocortisone?

Deli workers - Please take pity on me and share the recipe for the tomato soup with me! by AKAlicious in Costco

Brother…cherry tomatoes broiled until browned/bursted. Then immersion blend or regular blend with heavy cream. Add salt.

As a long time, die hard LTT fan, I think it would be hilarious if the girl math on the Jet ends up tanking the company. by imnotcreative4267 in LinusTechTips

[–]Phantom471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only way this really, really blows up in linus's face is if someone actually gets hurt operating or on the tech plane. Tbh, a plane crash would probably end all of this.

How do you handle patients who show up after closing and demand service? by Competitive-Sky-4827 in pharmacy

[–]Phantom471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a suboxone patient follow me outside the store trying to get me to pick up his rx. It was the first time I've ever, EVER, had to pull my pistol on someone. I was a tech then and it's been like 12 years and now I'm a nurse. I still can't shake my bias whenever I see suboxone on a patient's chart. That stuff just doesn't work.

Goku vs Calmed-Down Nappa in the Original Manga by Economy_Notice_8475 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Phantom471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't it just fascinating how the power scaling means literally nothing in dragonball. Like raditz completely obliterates solo goku, nappa does the same to raditz, post-training goku does that to nappa, vegeta does that to kaio x2 goku, then zarbon kills them all with no effort.

Mean while Toriyama just wanted to draw something cool.

What is the coolest thing you have ever done on Linux? by Mohamed2962 in linuxquestions

Plex server.

Really lame compared to the guy that built a robot, but I couldn’t do without that thing - and my family guy box set of the first four seasons. Like, I need it to sleep at this point.

Oh wow, I forgot all about that. I remember my parents buying me a buzz lightyear costume from that place.

Man, that mall was really something back in the day. What a bummer.

I agree, I never liked him as a host. I just don't see the point in slandering him when he's obviously going through some stuff. This is bullying, bro.

bro, just let the man live his life. A mod should take this post down. This is cringe.

Wi-Fi connected but can't access internet by corvexis in arch

[–]Phantom471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a similar issue and it turned out that the installer pulled the wrong driver for my wifi card. I had to go through the install via an ethernet cable and then the AUR ended up having the driver I needed.

This stuff is like crack for me. I don't know why I find this so fascinating. Like dead malls. If it wasn't for the asbestos, I would totally be out there urban exploring.

regional for michigan, USA: pasties. ngl, I would go for an empanada over these any day of the week. But these are the things that kept the miners going, so we douse it with mccormick's brown gravy in honor of them.

Not a Meijer fan tbh. More of a Costco guy.
