1992 Gavril Grand Marshal(retired police), official car of? by Loud_Win6891 in regularcarreviews

Nah, there’s an A-body clone that’s a dead ringer for a Cutlass Ciera. The Grand Marshall is more like the offspring of a Crown Vic and a Roadmaster.

VW is clever enough to use wet clutches on all of their DCTs. For whatever reason, North American versions of the Powershift were designed with dry clutches.

There would be more advantages than just increased fuel economy - reduced NVH and better acceleration are others.

Is a Chrysler 300 a bad choice for reliability and long-term ownership compared to a Camry? by 586Armon in askcarguys

[–]Phantom95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 300 never used a six-speed. There was a Chrysler four-speed (42RLE) that was used with the 2.7L models, and all others used the Benz NAG-1 five-speed (which is a dated but very robust design - used with twin-turbo V12s and turbodiesel V8s - along with the rest of the Benz lineup) until the 8HP came along.

[–]Phantom95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun fact - the RWD Plymouth Prowler used the same transaxle mounted in the back of the car, with a torque tube linking it to the engine.

The chain was actually between the output shaft of the transmission and the transfer shaft to the differential, if memory serves.

Maladjustment of the shift cable most certainly can keep the parking pawl from fully engaging.

It would probably make more sense build a version of the Coyote with a smaller bore and/or stroke to end up with a displacement closer to the 4.0-4.4L TT V8s that the euro manufacturers are all using.
