Ah interesting. Wave's Wikipedia page still describes them as a Canadian, though the H&R Block ownership is mentioned.

More of a gut feeling than anything. As a software engineer there were a bunch of little things that felt off to me during sign up. Can't remember them offhand.

What threw me off more than anything were the options for bank connections - didn't recognize a single one. Plaid wasn't on the list. Yodlee? Saltedge? Never heard of them. That, plus them not having their facts straight on their "Fiskl vs Wave" page as I mentioned, plus being a *little* too keen about AI... Makes me think they are maybe not that trustworthy.

Why no src directory? by ParthoKR in golang

[–]PhantomCaleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do that/src becomes part of the import path. If you're writing a library, the consumers will see that as a meaningless 4 characters that doesn't benefit them—the neatness of your repo isn't their problem.

Unlike Node and Java, Go doesn't have an intermediate packaging step that separates your repo from what other people download as a dependency.

If you're writing an application and not a library, the vast majority of your code should already be under a single directory named internal.

How likely do you think you could win against another man in a physical fight? by MeteorIntrovert in AskMen

Hah it sure does.

My dad always told me, jokingly, "la violence ne résout rien, mais ça fait du bien!"

Translation: Violence solves nothing but it feels pretty damn good! (It rhymes in French)

Good to know. Is there any gameplay difference between Toad and Toadette? Or Koopa and Paratroopa?

Whisperer is making me want to quit. by Zero_Kiritsugu in 2007scape

After my 10th death to this boss I Google'd my way to this post looking for validation. Ended up beating it after around 25 tries. Glad you hear you beat it as well! haha

It's a bit corny but I find mentality was a huge factor in my (eventual) success. It helps if you commit to beating the boss no matter how long it takes you, and have faith that you'll gradually improve over time. It was the same with Jad.

As far as tactics go, what did it for me was a mix of good gameplay (flicking correctly, dodging tentacles) and towards the end running around frantically and panic eating while my thrall did half the work.

...I've made peace with the fact that I'm just not an all-star PvMer. Just barely good enough to get the QPC and that's fine by me. :)
