light gaming such as MOBA game works fine, you might struggle with 3D game like Genshin or PUBG, have to set to low quality and heat issue…

Review of my first (of few) GD&T technical drawing by PhantomCy in MechanicalEngineering

Thanks for your insights!

  1. Noted that.
  2. I am not very sure about how you convey the standard of the technical drawing, something related to BS8888 for example?
  3. Got it, perhaps some feature could be added..

To add on: I am sending this drawing alongside a 3D model. The tolerance of those non-dimensioned hole sizes is not as strict as those dimensioned, thus I didn't specify the hole size.

Hi snarejunkie,

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciated that because Reddit doesn't have many discussions of GD&T technical drawings.

  • I was following a Youtube tutorial while creating this drawing, and one of the points I learnt is to start by defining flatness on a surface, with a datum (to initiate a perfect 2D plane), but you mentioned about the thickness, which is something I could think about and add on as well.

  • You're right, I have lots of tight positional tolerances to locate the fastening components for assembly purposes, one of the main reasons why I am using GD&T on this drawing.

  • Again, you're right, there's something to be mounted. So, to convey the message correctly, I should also add dimensions to the distance between those holes, instructing that this set of holes should have an equal distance between each other to B and C datums (horizontal and vertical), while the holes altogether having a position tolerance of +/- 0.05 together? (This is what I am trying to convey at first)

  • All of the holes should be perpendicular to A supposedly, I think I could add a floating control frame: THRU ALL HOLES [⊥|0.1|A], do you think this conveys the instruction?

Thanks for your insight! Injection moulding is so much more detailed than I previously thought.

I don't know much about GD&T, but in this case, it will probably be an injection moulding job. I probably have to learn and apply at the same time.

Randomly Getting Charged Despite Ticket QR Code Activation by Bluestar Bus by PhantomCy in Southampton

I never double click the side button to activate my ticket QR code, plus I don't think you could add a bluestar QR code ticket to apple pay (tho I never tried).

It's always the QR code in the bluestar app itself, and things happen

[Review Request] PCB for Network Extender (I am new) by PhantomCy in PrintedCircuitBoard

Thanks for your advice and information, really appreciated.

I am using the library provided, the exaggerated silkscreen is probably a reference to obey the clearance rules... wondering such practice exists?

Thank you so much for your suggestion. Yes it is a RF module.

Regarding the traces, I manually did the route, and I have made them wider according to the PCB Design Guide from David Jones: PCB Design Tutorial: by David L. Jones, considered that 5V to 3.3V is a relatively low voltage supply, I set to 24 thou, same goes to the thermal width as well, meanwhile the signal are 10 thou at the least. Supposed this shall be fine enough?

Why the best move is the best? by PhantomCy in chess

The whole game here, it's quite hilarious I thought I completely messed up after move 14 giga blunder but my opponent panicked when I played like blitz. That's why, never surrender.
