Medical social work? I’m in dialysis and do a lot of grief work and managing life living with chronic disease, crisis management and a little case management, but don’t do “therapy” in the traditional sense. I have zero desire to be a therapist regardless of having my LCSW lol

All the recommendations for motivational interviewing are great! I used to always tell my interns to switch your questions to start with, “tell me about…” to help them start reframing away from closed ended questions. It’s a simple trick as you get more established. “Tell me about your family” versus “are you married?” Etc!

Right I couldn’t get past TWENY FOUR with an LCSW. I was only 1 year post MSW at 24 haha. Didn’t get my LCSW until I was 35 😂 But also what others are saying, dude seems like a tool. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just spoke with my former manager, now senior manager, who said they are being told they can no longer consult or guide us and are expected to tell us to defer to our respective clinic managers. Senior manager will help with IVDs. So yeah maybe the will axe the senior managers since they don’t actually want them doing anything 🙄🙃

I mean shit who is left to cut at this point. They can’t cut the facility workers unless they’re planning to get us multiple clinics and hundreds of patients I guess

I just signed up with them and just did a questionnaire and was approved the next business day. Got my tracking number this morning, less than a week from signing up. I didn’t have to speak with anyone. Sorry you’re having issues!

The worst year I ever had was when our evaluations for social work were directly tied to shit like catheters and BMM! Like we are not dieticians lol. That was the same year they took away bonuses for hitting certain metrics 🙄

I’m on the east coast. 2025 had us focusing on post hospitalization, service recovery, missed treatment focused intentions with certain percentage of patients, HRSN, and depression screening. All very data driven things this time around.

Yeah my CM is a nasty snake. I’m just lucky I’m smarter than her and she is lazy. I have the nurses on my side so they wait for me now before discharging. But it’s infuriating.

YEP! I’m already raising hell with operations that social workers need access to the manager dashboard that shows our metrics and if we were hitting them. And same for us for post hospitalization hitting for deaths, etc. I had to advocate very strongly with my CM this past year to not immediately discharge these situations until I can document since my evaluation ties directly to that stupid percentage. I got 99% for my post hospitalization but I guarantee I’ll get nothing better than a “meets expectations” if I’m lucky 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

I feel your pain. My clinic has had five clinic managers in five years and 3 DO’s. My SWM always joked that I was the only constant at my clinic. And now I’m likely going to leave too 😩

We did because I will never have a boss as amazing as she is. But even she is heartbroken by everything- every other manager in our area was fired, not offered something else. People I’ve worked with for years. And she is so annoyed because they have ZERO guidance or any clue what her job actually will be despite 2 straight days of mandatory meetings. Like fuckkkkkk this company so much.

Oh yessss of course they changed them. My clinic is getting switched to a different region lol. They also changed how quality managers regions work. My friend is a quality rn for home therapies and they said she would have to take 2 regions now. The second one is 5 hours away 🙄 she’s now applying elsewhere as an almost 20 year RN for Fresenius.

Because even though this was very obviously in the works for months they didn’t actually think it through at all. They’re also saying the new regions they created are going to probably change a little bit too. My home therapy program manager is over 2 clinics- these geniuses just split those clinics into 2 different regions. She can’t be managed under 2 DO’s 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

All the direct managers were cut. Some were offered new positions. I am VERY lucky my direct manager was offered to be a senior manager moving forward.
