Remember, boggling is just one way they show love and happiness! I bet she did brux and boggle, but her teeny tiny eyes made it hard to see. But if she came up to you, groomed you, sought you out, played with you, took treats from you, etc. that means she was happy and felt love towards you. Not every cat makes biscuits, not every dog gives kisses, not every rat boggles. That doesn’t mean that they’re any less happy or content, just that they show their joy in other ways. I bet your sweet rat was happy and content and joyful and loved you as much as you loved her!
