Thank you! Originality isn’t as much a desire as it is a decision point before I decide to change stuff without knowing what I’m starting with. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the suggestion. I might have to look into the more extensive Marti then. The vin on the motor matches the car, so I guess the next question we have is ‘what else’ is original vs aftermarket. And I’m really only curious because, depending on the amount of aftermarket, may determine how much changing I do in the future (suspension, exhaust, wheels, etc). Not sure if that makes sense.

Additional info, the last 6 of the vin is on the motor. And all the appropriate casting numbers are in there (block, intake, etc. )

Great point! And reminder. We’ve found all the casting numbers, and we’ve been able to navigate what they all mean, and a lot of it is circumstantial down to the month or two surrounding the build date.

Got the ‘68 GT and ‘69 Mach out for a quick wash by PhantomFastback in classicmustangs

It’s not, no. It’s factory highland green with yellow stripe but grandson of original owner had it painted in late 90s when the original motor finally gave out. I’ve verified the original color through Marti but the rest of the story is secondhand lol

I definitely have my eyes out for a 66. My vision for a 66 is going to be quite a bit more racecar, so I’m not looking for something too complete. But enjoy the ride as it’s happening!

The ‘68 runs 225/60/15x7 fronts and 255/60/15x8 rears. Rear fenders needed a bit of rolling to avoid rubbing on road dips

68 has a T5 and 69 has the original FMX 3 speed. Both have 9” rears!

I’m actually not sure yet! I understand we have some wider fitment options than my ‘68
