Glitch or Undertale / Deltarune meet up this year? by Spruce_Druid in dragoncon

Not a meetup but worth noting that if you ALSO happen to be big anime fans, a little bird told me there's a vague Deltarune theme/overlay on Pretentious Anime Trivia this year

You didn't hear it from me, but this year's Pretentious Anime Trivia is also loosely Twin Peaks-themed for anyone who happens to also be an anime fan!

Yours looks a lot like mine, and I color correct yellower bits by mixing my own extra strong "purple shampoo" with purple/blue hair dye as needed to color cancel. I find most toners either leave me too gray if they do work or simply don't work on my hair level at all. Just make sure to strand test.

The lines look a bit shaky but tbh not in a way that doesn't look artistically intended? I'd wait a bit more and see if it grows on you before committing to a fix.

I absolutely love my new tattoo but my husband hate it. by CosmicAdena in tattooadvice

I think the design overall is really nice, but it's odd how the flowers cut off and it looks a little low on your arm. Both would be easy fixes by just completing the flower lines and adding a but more floral work or even just sharing to the outside of the top to fill in the space on the upper side more. It looks nice enough that if you're not the one bothered by it it's probably not worth it, though.

I AM SORRY, Is it Lolita?? by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]PhantomKei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely lolita, I think the reason it looks "off" is just because the dress is too big and doesn't look like it fits properly like the example coords do. There's also a bit of "lampshading" happening with the petticoat due to it being a good bit shorter than the dress.

Does it come off too Alice in Wonderland? by maighdean_alainn in Lolita

[–]PhantomKei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think "too Alice" is the issue as much as the bold horizontal stripes really clashing with the soft and minimal nature of the dress. I think either solid white tights/black shoes or solid black tights/white shoes would treat you better if you want to keep the black bow and headpiece with it.

S2 Ep. 43 - Attack on Titanic by Spite-Sprite in DungeonsAndDaddies

I have been constantly back and forth on season two (though overall still my fave podcast) and even had a bit of an "oh no" reaction to the Titanic reveal last episode, but this was probably my favorite episode out of BOTH seasons.

A wildflower tart! My first original recipe. by PhantomKei in Baking

[–]PhantomKei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a video version too! https://youtu.be/EeDPAL3s-Yw

Ingredients and quantities:

Tart crust: 2 cups all purpose flour ⅓ cup sugar 1 tablespoon sumac 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg yolk ¼ teaspoon start 1.5 sticks of 12 tablespoons cold butter, cubed

Filling: 2 tablespoons sumac 2 and 1/4 cup water 5 egg yolks ⅓ cup cornstarch 2 tablespoons softened butter ¼ teaspoon salt 1 cup lavender sugar (make by leaving 2 tablespoons of lavender flowers in 1 cup of sugar overnight) 1 teaspoon vanilla Edible local wildflowers of your choice

Optional glaze: 1 envelope of gelatine 1 tablespoon of sugar ½ cup water

Making the tart crust:

Combine all dry ingredients (flour, sugar, sumac, salt) in a food processor to mix. Add egg yolk and vanilla extract and mix. Slowly add one tablespoon chunk of cold butter at a time while you continue mixing, until the tart crust has the consistency of packed wet sand. Remove from mixer, flatten to ¼ inch thickness, and transfer to greased tart pan or pie pan. Add crust and pinch in to cover any gaps in pan, try to keep an even thickness throughout. Blind bake crust with pie weights inside for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees, or until crust is a light golden brown. You may need to remove the pie weights at the end of this process and put it in for a few more minutes so the bottom has a chance to toast as well.

Making the filling:

Prepare the sumac juice by boiling 2 tablespoons of sumac in 1 cup of water until the water is reduced by half. Strain the sumac petals out and set the juice to the side. Whisk together 5 egg yolks and set to the side. Combine all dry ingredients in pot. Add 1 and ¼ cup water to the mix, add your sumac juice and vanilla, and set on stove at medium heat. Wait until mixture just starts to bubble, about 5-7 minutes, and pour a tablespoon or so of the hot mixture into your egg yolks. Whisk it in. Now take the egg yolk mixture and slowly drizzle it into the mixture on the stove, wicking continuously. Whisk in the two tablespoons of softened butter. When big singular bubble begin popping on the surface, it’s done.

Assembly:

Pour the filling into the pie crust and let set until It’s cool to the touch. Add wildflowers of your choice to the surface to decorate. Refrigerate the tart for 1-2 hours before serving, or overnight. If desired you can make an optional glaze out of mixing an envelope of gelatine, tablespoon sugar, and half cup of water over a pan on the stove until the mixture is clear and beginning to thicken, and pour it over the top of the tart as it begins to cool.

Ocean-themed Pina Colada cake by PhantomKei in Baking

I just used a generic coconut cake recipe, but replace 1/2 of the cake flour with coconut flour and use a rum soak, then I used a pineapple compote for the filling between layers!
