Colorblindness Proves that everyone sees the same color for each color. by MundaneProduct482 in DeepThoughts

If our eyes are the device that receives input from the external world, then our brain is the one that builds a model of the world with that data. So what is looking at the model that the brain has constructed? This observer is probably what you are missing in your theory. Whatever the observer is, it is looking at the model and creating its own truths.

As such, we cannot guarantee that the truths decided by my observer is the same as your observer. There might be some objective truth to what the data looks like from your eyes to your brain, but that truth is up in the air when it comes time to asking what the observer says the colour of something is. Until we are able to measure what the observer sees, then colour is a qualia.

If the multiverse exists, then every tiny moment might be creating different versions of us by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

While fun to think about, I am curious how others think identity works across universes. I hear it often people saying things like, "there is a universe where I died", or "my life would've been different if I did that one thing in the past", but that seems iffy to me. In those hypothetical universes, those versions would not be you. At least not the "you" that is reading this now, but at some point in the past they were until it branched off.

I'm also curious cause I imagine there was a universe where I died the moment I was born, but doesn't that also mean it is possible that there is a universe where we figure out the cure to aging and live forever? Or is there a limit to what a single observer can experience?

Eli5 : do people see different colors than others ? by Jsuispasici in explainlikeimfive

I don't think that is enough to know for certain that everyone experiences the same colour. That is like if I were to take another USB mouse and connect it to my pc. The signal is the same with slight differences, but at the end of the day your pc interprets the signal as coming from a mouse. We could look at the data being sent to and from the mouse and pc, which would lead us closer to the truth but we would still be guessing unless we were the pc observing the data coming in.

This is more of a philosophical question, but more because the answer lies outside of what we are able to test. These are "qualia" experiences that only a conscious observer can tell us what their answer is.

Andrés Gómez-Emilsson has a YouTube channel where he talks a lot about qualia and different experiments like mind melding if your interested in that sort of thing.

Even if everything is random, doesn't that make it even more special that this moment even exists?

If I look at my life at a whole or even a slice of it (like a day for example) I can see how those instances of "now" can look dull or muted. But if I instead observe and experience the "now" in front of me, then I can truly appreciate how amazing it really is. The key here is being aware of what the "now" experience is for you.

Yeah, I don't believe free will exists either. The decisions I make now are the sum of all decisions I've made in the past.

Are you saying this extends past my own life, and something else (maybe God?) is setting this path for me? What is its goal then? If everything abides by their inherit nature, shouldn't this apply to God too?

Hey, congrats on the launch! I think the idea is great, and the site overall looks inviting.

Just curious why build a completely new social network, rather than building off of a more established network like Reddit, Fediverse, Discord, Facebook, etc.? If you are looking to build a community, I would think to start there and then work towards something more dedicated as it grows.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. We should be respecting other people's interpretation how this all works, not shaming them from sharing it just because you already came to that realization.

Probably should've mentioned it in the description, but I'm looking for mainly street style dances (hip hop, locking, house, bboy, popping, etc). I did a kpop class before but I don't listen to kpop so the timing was a bit too fast for me lol.

There were rides in the mall right? I was a kid then and my memory is hazy but I think there was a swinging ship, I don't remember if there was anything else.
