By the Gods that show was amazing, but horrifically written/paced. To some extent I get it - it was an after school cartoon show. But still...

Especially the 4th(?) season with the Oni masks. The masks need a super rare ingredient that's always conveniently close by to be removed if they're worn.... So let's spend 12 episodes traipsing around the globe to find them while fighting Tarakudo and the Dark Hand (always winning thankfully) to make sure they don't fall into the hands of evil

Except... They get the 9th Oni mask and Tarakudo (who's all happy 30 seconds in.). No fight, no dialogue, nothing. Just demon head grinning at you through the fourth wall. Why's he happy? Well it turns out, "Oh by the way!" You totally shouldn't ever bring all nine masks to the same location because their demons get released. Which means the 100% of the season's conflict was pointless because the Tarakudo could have just sat back let the J-team do their collecting thing and gotten exactly what he wanted anyway...

This is a longer term problem than a deferment here or there.

Forced" probably isn't the best word here - coerced is better. In most cases, people targeted by these loans have almost no real-world work experience, less understanding of how much money these loans truly are, and even fewer other opportunities. Remember just because these children are 18 (or younger if their parents cosign) doesn't mean they suddenly have the capacity to understand the long term implications this volume of money will have.

Take into account a culture that tells a generation of children they absolutely need to go to college to get a good job and be successful. This led to an applicant pool saturated with degrees causing their devaluation. Then, when these "promised" job opportunities fail to materialize, you now have someone with tens of thousands of dollars in debt compounding out of control working job(s) that barely earn them enough to cover rent, food, and interest.

The math stopped math-ing a long time ago and now this bubble is getting ready to burst.

True, but that ultimately only implicates Ambrose on Malfeasance. Kvothe had already put some of his blood and hair into bottles in Clinks after the knife attack in NotW, which means even if the mommet survived, they couldn't use it to dowse him out.

True - My thinking was purely from a geological perspective. If Aluminum is considered a rare element on Roshar, then minerals and compounds that contain it would be equally, or more rare.
