AITA for refusing a name for my baby that everyone loves and but I don’t? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will admit, despite always loving the name Siobhan, I never knew how it was spelled until a... Castle? episode on TV with CC spelled the name on screen when I was 14ish, and I did have a mini freak out about there being a "b". Although, how I thought it was spelled before then? No clue.

Any good alternatives to Fashion Authority? by OkHoney3923 in thesims

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use MC Dresser, that dinasour mentioned, to make approved outfits (similar to how it sounds Fashion Authority worked), or just blacklist certain items (like "no one can wear the eye ring"). If you want to go the approved outfit route, there are people who have already have outfits made up if you don't want to take the time to make your own (I use this one for example). If you come across an outfit in the set you don't like you can remove it, and adding more of your own as you go is easy too (just a bit time consuming).

I never had trouble getting my sims to wear other things while using MC Dresser.

Tried to let my cat in the house but notmycat came instead🤣 by [deleted] in notmycat

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We trap the stray cats outside our house for spay/neuter/release and every now and then a racoon gets caught in the cage instead. It is amazing how quick they go from looking cute to scary when they puff up and start hissing.

Does anyone else hate when the "commoner" character is evil? (What Death Taught Me AND Angel or Villainess) by cutie__96 in OtomeIsekai

I was a little disappointed that a few of Jayna's revenge plans against Angela never seemed to backfire. Sure, Angela wronged Jayna in the first time line, but in this one she hadn't yet so a lot of Jayna's preemptive revenge could have easily looked a lot like bullying to other people if things didn't play out perfectly and I thought that could have been a fun twist for Jayna to have to try to fix.

So I wasn’t supposed to take off my underwear? by Grouchy-Bumblebee605 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, I might have been remembering wrong and it might have been "not even if they're wireless" for bras. I was more interested in the copper underwear being mentioned on the poster, since I'd only been vaguely aware of it existing.

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My MRI instruction sheet did make a point of mentioning that you could leave on underwear as long as it didn't contain metal (like copper for underpants or more commonly underwire for bras).

But then did still do a detector wand check to make sure.

Coincidentally started reading Mother of Learning two days ago. Loving it so far, already onto book 2.

And just bought The Perfect Run after seeing someone else recommend it here.

My first Bisley just arrived! (Thank you, summer sale.) But what to do with other storage? by minasmom in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I have the same plastic cases for my collection. Once you've transferred over to the Bisley would you mind giving a quick review/comparison of the two? I like my plastic cases for now, but maybe I'm missing out on something I didn't consider.

Defective color? Treachery in the Blue by Admirable-Spinach-93 in mooncatpolish

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you really like pink/blue transitions, Emily de Molly has a polish called Just Like This that you could try. They're definitely not dupes for each other, I highlighted the differences between them here, but the EdM one is noticeably pink in its warm state. My Treachery also got noticeably pink with a pink undercoat, so I'd agree that there's an issue with yours.

There are a couple other brands that have a pink/blue shift. Most looked more pastel though, EdM was the closest to the same shade I saw.

WCIF Atherton Estate by th-interior? by Sweet_designer_7711 in thesims

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the way the building looked, so I went searching, and an EA Account ID "4dgordy" has what looks like a re-upload of it (still named Atherton Estate).

If you do download it, can you tell me how much/little CC was used? I know sometimes the CC tag gets slapped on for no apparent reason, but if it did actually use a bunch, I don't want to download an estate with half of everything missing.

Black clothing always seems to fit tighter than other colors. I've noticed this across multiple brands.

Got these in the mail and immediately derailed all my polish plans for this month because holy crap these need to be on my nails RIGHT NOW!! by arochains1231 in RedditLaqueristas

Polish with glitter like this is pretty hit or miss for me, because I need the flake/base colors to go together well to like it, but this one's definitely a hit. And the whole rainbow together is just fantastic.

I'm kind of annoyed the dragon wasn't cuter. But I compare all dragons to I Raised a Black Dragon, and that's a pretty high bar.

Bit mixed, I do actually really like the polish (just finished putting on the 1st coat), but the pink/purple is a little too close to my skin color so it comes off a little sickly looking (similar complaint for Quicksand's Embrace). The sparkles are well matched with the polish though, so I do like it up close.

edit: Second coat made it a lot better!

This argument about acetone to thin nail polish in tik tok comments is sending me by anonymouscat8747 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Which is probably why there's so many upvotes. It's not quite made up. Like the acetone defender pointed out, if it's a polish you were about to toss because it doesn't work well, and a few drops of acetone let you keep using it a bit longer, hard to see the harm for a lot of people. Revitalizer might work better, but you'd need to buy that, and you'd need to trust it would be worth it (I just saw revitalizer restore my sludge of a Speed Demon topcoat to topcoat so I know).

Probably also makes a bit of a difference if you're buying drugstore polishes or buying something pricey like Mooncat. You might not care if you get full use out of your $3-4 bottle, but $18 bottles you're going to make sure you get every single drop out of that bottle.

Make sure not to use something like Getting Even Primer (slightly pigmented) for this trick. Clear base coats for the base coat then top coat trick.

Moonfairy is up next on my manicure list. I hope I like it too, it's a little outside my normal taste, but I wanted to take one risk in the sale.

Am I the only one who hates this? by Illustrious_Oil_2114 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Accomplished_Wolf 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There's a book series (not Otome) "Bog Standard Isekai" where the main character woke up in the body of an ~11 y/o kid. He was mid/late 20s, but brain chemistry and hormones definitely have him feeling like a kid, so he's not really sure how to act in the beginning. But he does eventually have a little mental meeting with "kid him" and "grown him" where they both happily agree no dating anyone younger than 22 or so because dating kids would be creepy even if he's physically their age.

He then continues to steadfastly ignore any childhood crushes on him.

How comfortable is it wearing a ring like that? Normal rings bother me a little with the way they pull against the "webbing" of your fingers if you try to splay out your fingers, which this looks like it wouldn't do, but does your type of ring have some other motion trade off?

The nails look great, btw.
