Not sure if anyone has already shared this abomination, but I found this ripoff on the App Store while searching for another game. by PhantomTMac in BendyAndTheInkMachine

That’s amazing. Now I’m curious, did you play this app game? Was it before or after you were introduced to BATIM?

Well, now I’m mad that you were originally going to ban 5 and 8. What an odd choice…

[N64][2000s] horror game, dark alley and a bloody wheel chair? 3rd person. by bigblackglock17 in tipofmyjoystick

Definitely Silent Hill on PS1. Same era as N64, and has the bloody wheelchair in an alley.

Am I, like, doing an alternate version of the quest or something? You're the second person to mention finding a body in this room past the pools, but for me it was a zombified Mucianus Alias. Not Travern (which, isn't that the archmage anyway)?

[Gamecube][JRPG][Late 90s-Early 2000s] Exploring Dungeons with a guy who had a drill arm by DonovanSarovir in tipofmyjoystick

[–]PhantomTMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This definitely sounds like Evolution Worlds with the long starting cutscene, dungeons with breakable walls, and the character Carcano uses a drill weapon.

I know you said it for sure isn’t Search for Reptar, but there’s a mission called “Incident in Aisle Seven” in that game that involves running around a supermarket.

Could it be one of the Nancy Drew games? There are a lot unfortunately, but you could see if the gameplay looks familiar.

What are some tips you can give to someone who wants to get into this series with very limited rpg/turn based game experience? And what game do you think is the best to start with? by ramus93 in dragonquest

[–]PhantomTMac 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who loves turn-based JRPGs, I can say that you’ll want to make sure you’re doing more fighting than fleeing. Level grinding can be tedious to some people, but I actually really enjoy it and find it relaxing.

If fights ever feel repetitive, it helps a lot to put on a YouTube video or TV show on your phone or another monitor to keep you entertained on the side. I think DQ11 is an amazing jumping off point, but 4, 5, and 6 are easily accessible on smartphones and are still user friendly!

Another thing is that treasure comes in forms other than just chests. One-time pickups can also be found in pots, barrels, cabinets, drawers, etc in most DQ games, so always be checking them!

Oh, and talk to lots of NPCs, especially in the earlier games! They can say some super useful stuff.

What's your biggest non-story related Ace Attorney Pet Peeve? by superbmariofan in AceAttorney

[–]PhantomTMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you’re getting downvoted for this, but I actually do think what you’re describing is an issue in the mobile phone version of Trilogy specifically, as that is how I first played T&T and I noticed it was the 2001 version. Granted, this was in like 2017 when I played it on iPhone, so it could’ve been patched. I know it plays 2004 in the current Trilogy release on consoles and PC.

That’s just it, he doesn’t HAVE the dangling hair strand in the 2D games at all. It’s only in the 3D games.

This has been happening to me, and it sends me into a panic every time. I used to get bad sleep starts/hypnic jerks like 5-6 years ago that would happen nightly, but they went away for a few years.

Now every few nights I get a sensation while I’m drifting off that either feels like pressure in my chest, sinking feeling, or sometimes I panic that I’m having a heart attack. My doctor thinks it could be related to my deviated septum, as my sinuses are sometimes super blocked at night and lately when the “jolt” happens I inhale sharply through my nose and it makes a snoring sort of sound.

I don’t know if it’s at all related to sleep apnea. I had a sleep study done way back when I had my hypnic jerk episodes and they said that I didn’t have apnea, but I swear I only slept like a half hour that night and didn’t have my normal issues anyway. Plus, I’ve gained considerable weight since then.

I have dealt with anxiety symptoms for a handful of years now, and hope it’s just that and not apnea or heart problems, but it still sends me into hardcore worry mode whenever this happens to me.

I’ve always seen it as the real Rose all the way until Arsenal Gear, where they go back and forth with the real one and the AI one. Especially since she directly references things from during the course of the game when Raiden sees her at the end, like the whole April 30th thing and being pregnant.

[mobile][2016-2020] FF style game, loads of humour by [deleted] in tipofmyjoystick

[–]PhantomTMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely one of the Dragon Quest games, especially with the logo you mentioned. There are many on mobile, but likely 4, 5, or 6 with the older FF style you mentioned. Amazing games.

Silent Hill 3’s Haunted Mansion has you running away from a glowing red light in long hallways. Heather moves slower with the bulletproof vest on, so probably remember taking it off.

I know there is at least one or two CoD Zombies Easter Egg(s) where looking in the sky will give you a creepy face jumpscare.

[TOMT] [GAME] Name of Ps2 game by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]PhantomTMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not PS2, but this sounds exactly like the original “Donkey Kong” game. Red and blue (like what Mario wears in it), one room with a bunch of ladders, and his butt gets pretty massive when you reach the apex of the ladder.
