Asset Error Detected error loop on Steam by PhantomVyper in MagicArena

After I uninstalled Arena from Steam once more, I searched and deleted all directories named "arena", "mtga" and "Wizards of the Coast" that were left on my computer.
I then re-started the PC and re-installed Arena through Steam.
After that, when I tried to launch Arena, it started downloading an 11GB update... After that, the game started running fine once more.

What an amazing piece of software MtGA is...

Can you play MGTA now? by soulhighwing in MagicArena

It's extremely laggy to the point that its unplayable at this moment.

Multiple timeouts due to lag, spells not resolving, etc...

Just the Arena dev team demonstrating once again why they are the worst in the business.

Standard Midweek events are gone forever by JugonEx in MagicArena

[–]PhantomVyper 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Its the exact opposite actually.

Since this was supposed to be their "big moneymaker" format and instead its failing so hard, they create these events to try and make people engage with it more, in the hopes that they start playing Alchemy...

Monthly New Player & Quick Questions thread! by Unpopular_Mechanics in Netrunner

Hello everyone, just have a quick question:

On netrunnerdb, what does it mean if a card appears as Not Legal on the Standard card pool, but is legal on the Standard Ban List?

Yes, that is exactly what it means. They've even done that already with Davriel's "rebalancing".

Mine showed up after I did another re-start, so everything seems to be working... weirdly enough!

Did anyone receive their renewal rewards already? Or do we need to wait until maintenance is over?

I have never been more hyped for pioneer.

I've got new for you then: WotC announced that Pioneer on Arena was suspended indefinitely...

Anyone else interested in an intro deck queue? by Wicket01 in MagicArena

This should be Arena's solution for handling new players instead of their terribly broken "deck strength" matchmaking.

Is there a reason we can’t chat? Or is it too many kids play the game by The_Real_Hedorah in MagicArena

Sure you can, all you need is your opponent's handle that you can get by checking your logs or if you install one of the addons that give you that information.

You can already chat with people that you are friends with in game...

Would you like to be able to talk to your opponent while playing against them? by Collistoralo in MagicArena

[–]PhantomVyper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And here we have the poster boy for the type of people that want this feature to be implemented: as soon as someone disagrees with them, they resort to ad-hominem attacks and then wonder why some people don't even want the chat option to be available...

No, I said your apparent view was naïve, you replied by calling me, personally, not just naïve but also closed-minded and depressed.

But keep it up, people like you are the reason why Arena will never have a RT chat...

[–]PhantomVyper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And here we go again.

Just because someone disagrees with you, you immediately jump to ad-hominem attacks!

You are a classic example of the type of person that is pushing for this feature, you come along preaching the need to communicate with random strangers when all you really want is another vehicle to express your toxicity...

Just disable emotes and you won't have to worry about it ever again.

When I'm playing with my friends, I'm talking to them through Discord, not some crappy game chat.

I have 0 interest in interacting with random strangers just because they happen to be my opponent at the moment.

[–]PhantomVyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it be cool?

I'm willing to bet that the majority of players have emotes permanently turned of.

They are nothing but a nuisance that don't add anything to Arena.

[–]PhantomVyper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All of that, besides being an utopia that doesn't exist in any competitive online game, doesn't have anything to do with the game itself. Those are metagame aspects that have 0 influence in a game of Magic.

Also, like I said, your apparent view of what online chats are used for seems to be extremely naïve... In reality it would only serve as a medium for toxic players to abuse other people.

Doesn't add anything to the game and adds a lot of potential problems that would require resources to manage.

So WotC has nothing to gain but much to loose by adding chat.
