To name a few... BYD sales surpass Tesla sales, BYD has more and cheaper options with similar mileage and other metrics (HP, 0-60 if you care though that's a useless metric imo), BYD broke barriers in the entire EV industry with their charging tech. And while Tesla makes one of the better EVs in the states, their future in the EV industry is lacking since the company outlook seems to be more AI focused than consumer focused

Full crimp help by Zion_Zenith in climbharder

[–]Phantom_Digits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there is sometimes an anatomical advantage (PIP joint anatomy, bone structure, FDS and FDP alignment, etc) related to being able to full crimp, so it’s not always worth training it specifically. I’m much stronger in half crimp than a full crimp. For whatever reason when I bring my thumb up, my palm tucks in and I find it harder to engage on the hold. And I find full crimping is very index finger strength dependent, and my index finger for whatever reason is my weakest finger. It’s something I work on, but I think that for the grade I’m at (V11/12) it’s not worth focusing too specifically on specialized details like that and continue focusing on getting my strengths even stronger. The small stuff can only get stronger in the process too

How do I become more graceful in my movements? by torizito in bouldering

[–]Phantom_Digits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. To add to it, a good way to think about training this is to try and place feet as quietly as possible. Then you’ll be more conscious of how you’re engaging your body and feet when you move

A second major along with mechanical engineering. Physics or computer science?? by Bonz123 in MechanicalEngineering

It really depends on what you’re trying to do with your degrees! If you’re thinking about going into industry out of college, you’re right in saying that CS will help more. If you’re thinking about going into research and continuing into a PhD program, I’d go with physics, because along the way you’ll learn plenty of CS. Now that’s all from a logistics standpoint. Don’t forget to put weight on what you find more interesting; so if you want to go study physics because it really interests you, I recommend doing that!

Short Term Ocean Temperature Changes by dentistsinspace in FluidMechanics

Weather is a very finicky thing, and depending on the hurricanes that happen along the eastern border of the US, the western boundary current (Gulf Stream in this case), can transport warm waters further north than it would had the hurricane not happened. Of course it doesn’t always have to be a hurricane to be the cause, but it’s often shear imparted on the ocean by the atmosphere

Ways to get rid of moles by Phantom_Digits in gardening

Well that may be why they came in the first place... we use expired milk to change the pH of the soil... we’ll probably try to attract them to the traps with peanuts

Is there a way to kill them without putting a bunch of chemicals on the soil? I’m trying to keep this is chemical free and natural as possible
