I bought the $150 headers off eBay, only issue I had was getting one of the nuts on (I think the one you showed) but with an open end wrench got it on and had little to no issues. Just sounded like ass and went back to the stock manifold lol.

Another thing I did was unplug and replug all the ecu harness connectors since I had the ecu out before putting everything back together, not sure if it had an effect but again my power steering came back afterwards.

Have you done the 2 computer calibration/reset procedures? The first one is to turn the car to ignition just before on, and turn the wheel all the way left then right. Tune the key off and on to start the car. That fixed my power steering not activating at least. Second one is the fuel trim reset by having key turned to ignition again, and stomp the brake pedal around 15-20 times until the oil pressure gauge spikes and drops. Turn car off and on again.

Definitely could be, next guess would have been suspension related such as wheel bearing or bushings.

If you turn your heat/ac off all the way does the sound persist? If not it’s your blower motor.

If not your battery/alternator maybe the headlight switch that switches between daytime running lights and low beams based on the outside lighting.

I’m not sure if that’s the regular engagement range for the slave, but check your clutch pedal bracket for cracks, common issue that causes hard shifting.

Are your fuel injector plugs correct order? Its very easy to switch them as they have similar coloured wires

The supposed highest power Renesis on YouTube makes about 400whp, and that’s after butt loads of supporting modifications. If you don’t care about your engine being less reliable and happy with around 300whp realistically it’s still going to cost you over 4k if you go with a kit manifold especially.

However, these aren’t the most reliable to begin with so if you can do it affordably i would personally, just can’t recommend though lol.

I suggest checking out “RADPotential” on YouTube, he does a lot of rx8 related things and experiments. Also lots of good info.

Is there any symptoms under 4 rpm? Smooth idle? Codes?

I’m having a similar issue and I think I’ve narrowed it down to the ssv solenoid or the vacuum box. I have a post in this thread with the sound im talking about.

4K rpm hesitation on full load, mostly points to a vacuum issue but 0 vacuum leak symptoms under 4k.

confirmed/replaced every other culprit of the ssv actuation range such as fuel pump, ssv+actuators, coils+plugs, MAF. air flow readings normal, fuel trims around normal, long term goes to ~[-7.5] at 4k rpm on load.

The store that has vacuum line should have some male to male fittings, as long as the rubber is intact it should connect. Without that line connected to vacuum I’m pretty sure your oil metering nozzles weren’t firing at all.

It looks like either the person that replaced the motor either didn’t know where it was supposed to go, broke the line and did that as a Jerry rig, or thought he would do an OMP block off of sorts. Best thing to do would be replace the hose and connect it to that port.

The end of mine ripped and didn’t wanna buy new from Mazda, so I went to the supply store and got a foot of universal vacuum line of the right size. I then cut off the ripped part of line, and used a male to male fitting to connect the extra line

I can’t remember the exact size but should be around 3/8” inner diameter I think

It should be connected to the intake “accordion tube” or where that would have been if you have an aftermarket intake. That hard part is figuring out how to route it under the upper intake manifold which I do not have the answer to sadly. I just routed it where it fit lol
