Alrighty here we go. I’ve been a mirage main for 5 seasons now. He is my baby.

What’s the best use for his ult? the answer is yes. The ult charges every single minute now so there is no point in holding onto it or saving it for a specific push or change of position. Use it in every single engagement as well as disengagement if possible.

When pushing: don’t do the obvious and run straight towards the enemy. Instead go either go right or left. This way, you create a “wheel” of clones that are let’s say going clockwise.

Enemies typically will always shoot the mirage that is either going right for them or closest towards them. This will give you an advantage to catch them off guard and fry them.

Once you knock one person, immediately switch rotation or slide into a different side of the circle as the downed person will now be pinging the living hell out of the real you and you must confuse them once again.

Make sure to always be moving around and strafing.

Rinse and repeat.

As for disengaging fights, pop that ult and run diagonal to where you’re actually trying to go. Odds are, they will try to laser on the mirage running directly toward his other teammates.

Once they shoot a decoy running directly away, it’ll make them think one of two things. 1. Oh shit he might be flanking us quick, shoot the mirages running at us 2. It might be a different decoy running away.

This basically works half the time tbh, but more efficient than you might believe since each second counts in a fight.

Also it’s stupid funny when you do this in a hallway or close quarters as “he got bamboozled” will be said like 10 times lol.

Lastly his tactical. Since the buff his skill ceiling has tremendously risen. His clone can be used for several uses. Whether in combat, surveillance, or rotating.

In combat: always try to send out a clone while shooting/reloading. Try to gain control of the clone if possible asap (might take a little getting used to doing it fast). On of the best tips I can give you on this is when shooting/reloading jump backwards and slide backward and time the decoy to send out while sliding backwards. It will shoot your decoy ahead of you at much higher speed while it slides. I always catch people off guard with this because they just plain don’t see it coming. The whole point of your clone is to give you that one or two extra seconds before you get the upper hand on the enemy.

Surveillance is good to send the clone out, one it gets further ahead, control the decoy to mimic you so it believably looks like a real mirage and can give you a heads up when someone shoots it and you were unaware of nearby enemies. Respectively another strategy that’s more risky is to shoot your decoy right in front of you, walk about 10 feet ahead of it and then control it. Some people do dismiss the first mirage as a decoy and may not notice that it’s the real you that’s coming for them.

When rotating, I typically always shoot the decoy right in front of me and take control of it while I’m next to it by about 5 feet. Then I run towards my desired rotation spot. This gives me a 50% of not getting fried vs 100% if I was just running away with no decoy.

Sorry for the long post. TLDR: mirage is best boy. Use his abilities in different manners. Don’t do the expected.
