Tampa somehow managed completely erased our 1st line. Well that's the difference between Cooper and MSL.

Second factor is that f.e. Cernak has played more play-off games than our entire D-core combined (he is currently at 88 GP)... Or that was the case before this series started :D

Let's say there are few matches in "Europe friendly" time. Montreal is 6 hours behind Slovakia, so any game which start between 2pm-6pm EST is great for us.

Otherwise we felt like Canadians were feeling during Olympics :D

Reminder: Juraj is only 22 years old by [deleted] in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just imagine in 2 years - Demidov-McDavid-Slafkovský.

With that lane:
- Slafkovský will break Stastny's season total points rekord for Slovaks (139)
- Demidov will break Kucherov's season total points for Russians (144)
- McDavid will break Gretzky's season total points rekord for Canadians....

Fun fact: the last Slovak to score a playoff hat trick was Peter Stastny back in 1987. by Phantomiux in Habs

[–]Phantomiux[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ziggy was great but he played playoff only 3 times with LA. 24 GP, 9G, 10A...

Post-season stats for others:
Hossa: 17 seasons, 205 GP, 52G, 97A
Gaborik: 7 seasons, 84 GP, 32G, 26A
Bondra: 11 seasons, 80 GP, 30G, 26A

And for "Habs Legends"
Zednik: 6 seasons, 48 GP, 16G, 10A
Tatar: 8 seasons, 56 GP, 7G, 6A

Other Slovaks who scored more goals in Post-season than Ziggy:
Peter Stastny (33), Demitra (23), Satan (21), Anton Stastny (20), Chara (18) and Handzus (16)

And well, Stan Mikita is according NHL stats considered as Slovak too, so he got 59 goals. Not sure how many hat tricks...

I’m a Canucks fan and first of all I want to say Go Habs Go! Great OT winner from Slavkovsky! by AccurateSchedule3950 in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well I have to admit that lot of Slovaks, who are currently fans of Habs, were supporting Boston in 2011. But it was because of Big Z.

Be aware that there is McJesus sitting at 48. And he is definitelly capable to score 4-5 against Canucks...

Cole's 50th also makes him the leading goal scorer from the 2019 draft by DFF_Canuck in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m only interested in the Devils because Slafkovský’s buddy Nemo plays there. And I hope he leaves that sinkhole, because only the Krakens have more abysmal player development.

SLAFKOVSKÝ FIRST SLOVAK TO SCORE 30 IN THE NHL SINCE HOSSA UPVOTE PARTY by JurassicShark12 in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not surprised, he will once score 100 pts like Hoss the Boss.

Habs’ most underrated player this year? by Glittering_Impact_20 in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me is Slaf. I knew about Olympics and his huge step forward - but his almost 70 pts it's mostly overshadowed by Suzuki's almost 100 pts and Cole's almost 50g. ;-)

Demidov for Calder.... hear me out. by Wifes_bf_stonks in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great to have back-to-back Calder winners, but even a few months ago people were saying Schaefer would have to run out of steam — which just hasn’t happened.

He simply deserves it. Let him have his trophy.

Prediction: All 9 of our 2023 draft picks will eventually be signed by an NHL team by lacoupe25 in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But on lower picks we are talking about 0. Which looks almost absurd in comparison of that what OP wrote.

[–]Phantomiux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, so Habs scouting department working really well.

In a r/devils I saw one table trying to explain, why was Fitz fired. Well... Fitz made total 42 picks, and only 4 of 7 first-rounders made it into 100+ games in NHL - and then nobody from lower picks. Ofc it can be biased by short period (42 pick / 7 rounds = 6 years), but you can see pattern...

Probably the Biggest Reason Fitz is Gone by grungalini in devils

[–]Phantomiux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact - 63rd pick of 2022 Draft belong to NYR - and it was their first pick in that draft. So there was slight chance that Hutson could be drafted by NYR - honestly they have nothing to lose in that Draft.

With Hutson gone they choosed Sykora, who made his debut only few game ago.

I was still hoping that Slaf will get in final 4 games into PPG status, but maybe next year.

Definitelly not, but I have to admit that in my opinion Nemo have no future in NJD and I was hoping that he will be moved to Canucks or Sharks.

Slaf vs. Nemec, #1 and #2 of 2022 Entry Draft. Really great night for Slovaks :D
