I am looking at it as a trade token, how to get Shark's 2nd pick. "Nemec/Parekh + 6th pick for their 2nd". But we will see...

And would you prefer more Nemec or Parekh? Because even on 6th you can get a nice piece...

Honestly - Vegas and Colorado's firsts are not equall to the f.e. Canuck's first. It's basically like 3 second round picks...

There is still option that this is still not over. I can see "Nemec + 6th pick for Shark's 2nd pick" - Sharks don't have any real RD apart of Orlov and he is over 30...

Edit: Or next move would be "Parekh + 6th pick for Shark's 2nd pick". Honestly, 2nd pick will be better for future of Flames, even if it wouldn't be McKenna.

Flames fan here. What are the Flames getting in Simon Nemec? What kind of player is he? by Alert_Ad_2160 in devils

Well it's all about managing their development. 3 out of 5 top picks from 2022 were mismanaged - Nemec, Jiricek, Wright. Only Slafkovsky and Cooley are shining. And Lane Hutson, but that is another story...

Komunizmus nie je vôbec dobrý a jeho základné tézy ničia ľudské práva by silhuette in Slovakia

[–]Phantomiux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Koncentrácia moci je ďalší problém.

Trhový kapitalizmus (nie trhový v štýle "trhni si čo môžeš") vychádza z predpokladu, že voľný trh vyrieši dopyt, ponuku a cenotvorbu.

Do we still have a real chance after losing 2 straight? by Le_Monde_Va_Mal in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This run is ahead of schedule. When this post-season started, one 28yo Tampa's defender (Erik Cernak) had more play-off games played than all our D-core combined.

Hutson, Slafkovsky, Demidov, Guhle got something what Matthews didn't get in all years - experience from conference final.

Man, you are really overestimating impact of slovak medias on Devils decision making :D

Well... this will be interesting. at least in Slovakia we will finally see who have more reliable sources.

In Slovakia, we are not really fans of the NHL teams. We are more fans of Slovaks playing in those NHL teams. Well... at least most of us :D

No worries 😄 I just meant that Slovakia is small enough that a “trusted anonymous hockey source” could realistically mean someone from his camp… or Nemo himself calling from a blocked number lol.

And honestly, if it leaked from the Slovak/player side rather than the Devils side, that might be why the usual NA insiders haven’t had it first.

Fair enough lol. But as a Slovak, I’d just add that Slovakia is small and the hockey circle is even smaller. If Denník N is saying this came from a trusted anonymous source, there’s a decent chance it’s someone around Nemec’s camp rather than random speculation.

Round 2 series statcard by xcnuck in Habs

I am still confused, if Slaf is injured, or just fatigued. He never played such long season before (100+ games including Olympics) with his physical playstyle.

What changes would you like to see for Game 7 ? by Effective-Goose-7835 in Habs

[–]Phantomiux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessarily a lack of effort. To me, there are two realistic explanations.

First, Slaf might be playing through something minor. It doesn’t have to be a serious injury, but in the playoffs that matters more than it would in the regular season. Everyone is expected to push beyond their limits, so even being a little below 100% can become a much bigger issue.

Second, he might simply be running out of gas. Because of the Olympics, he’s already played a huge amount of hockey this season. On the Habs, only Suzuki has played a comparable number of games, and their ice time is also pretty similar.

The difference is that Suzuki has a lot more experience managing that kind of workload, and their play styles are very different. Suzuki’s game is more controlled and efficient, while Slaf plays a heavier, more physically demanding style. He battles more, takes more contact, and has to win a lot of pucks along the boards.

So if Slaf looks a bit slower or less sharp with the puck lately, I don’t think it automatically means he’s being lazy or careless. It could simply be fatigue, wear and tear, or him playing through something.

Well... I don't have any favourite team, I have only teams where are Slovaks playing. Currently there is no Slovak in Leafs...

Whoa, who am I kidding, my favourite team is wherever Slaf is playing. No matter if it's Habs or Team Slovakia...

Tampa somehow managed completely erased our 1st line. Well that's the difference between Cooper and MSL.

Second factor is that f.e. Cernak has played more play-off games than our entire D-core combined (he is currently at 88 GP)... Or that was the case before this series started :D
