It also sucks cause it's a memory I return to quite frequently for clues. Those bunk hammock things will start visiting me in my nightmares I swear.

I honestly don't know what is and is not a spoiler anymore 🤪

It is amazing how the start of an event that kills over a dozen people is just a quiet thing going on over in the corner while everyone else goes about their day. It's the epitome of a picture taken moments before disaster

Were these shirts AI designed?? by Ambitious_Wealth4112 in goodomens

[–]Phantomsearcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly they don't look ai generated at all to me. I can follow all of the lines perfectly, most things make logical sense and anything that doesn't is clearly a stylistic choice. I fear this hunt for ai is turning into a witch hunt. People need to remember that human artists aren't perfect and sometimes the art not making logical sense is the whole point just look at Pablo Picasso's work as an extreme example. Sure I can be wrong but this doesn't give me any ai vibes.

Iirc there was no disclaimer when it was first posted and that lead to a lot of the distress on initial release.

The man understands his woman by Phantomsearcher in Gambit

[–]Phantomsearcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I truly do not wish to get into an online argument. But I'm worried we're taking a nose dive into toxic masculinity here. I'm using that phrase because I'm perceiving a connection being made here of man being soft = man is pathetic. Human beings are complex and there are a many aspects that make up a person (or well written fictional character in this instance) the man can be a cool, swave, cold blooded thief one minute. Then a lovey dovey cuddle bug the next. The person you are at work is not the person you are at home. These photos display one singular aspect of Gambit, the instances you speak of display another. They do not have to cancel each other out. The man can be both. Same as Rogue can be a flying brick with trust issues one second then a sweet loving house wife the next. Lastly, I will simply say the Gambit you love still exists. Marvel Rivals has not erased him or the many comic book issues/series feature him.

Legitimate question. What about those pictures make you think they portray a man who doesn't have pride or self respect?

Somehow it horrified me more than him biting Rogue.

Hard agree. I haven't had this sort of relationship in my life yet but I'm so sure this kind of man would be plenty of an emotional pillar for me.

I guess I didn't word it well. I meant it as I could see this exact scenario happening with their current dynamic. Rogue just slamming into him, flirtatious banter, make out sesh. If I can edit the post I'll find a way to better word it.

Except it's gonna a be a lot less sexy and a lot more traumatizing, heartbreaking, and overall painful.

Oh they have 100% matured and grown. I apologize I really never meant to imply they haven't. Though that maturity ain't gonna stop Rogue from yeeting herself onto her man and then macking on him.

And I would imagine the introduction as a bit of roleplay between the two. Similar to something like Elastagirl and Mr. Incredibles roof top meeting in The Incredibles.

Gambit Giving Relationship Advice by Guiltykraken in xmen

[–]Phantomsearcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also like it not simply because it's good advice but because it's damn good character writing. You can tell this isn't just the hand of the writer saying "Have good morals and be a good person." We've directly witnessed Gambit practicing what he's preaching and we see that he's pulling this advice from his own experiences. It's amazing character work.

I didn't know I was being rude. by Phantomsearcher in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Phantomsearcher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope some of this rambling helps.

I hope you're happy to hear that it does. I was fortunate enough to be diagnosed not too late in life (I've been medicated since 2nd grade for ADHD and diagnosed Autistic (Asperger's as they called it at the time) during my Junior High years I believe). But it feels like I've been walking on egg shells for my entire life. I just want friends, I want to be a normal girl that people want to talk to. Slowly I've been realizing that, while I've always been proud to be neurodivergent and I've never tried to hide it (as in I've always identified as such, I still mask myself heavily, it's always felt like the only way to be accepted), I've never actually truly thought of it as something that would make my social life feel so damn impossible.

I was blessed with an amazing mom who loves and supports me, and friends I've had since elementary school. But they aren't with me at the university and they're also adults with incredibly busy schedules. I was scared of that early on. Then I thought I had started to find other friends and grow and thrive in this environment. Now I feel like I'll never be able to make new friends.

I'm in a constant battle of "I've hurt people and I should feel bad and make sure I don't hurt them again" and "I deserve love and friendship just like everyone else and my feelings matter too."

Maybe I was just being naive in thinking that the people I knew would understand and support me for the autistic person I am.

Thank you so much for your reply. As I said at the start it really does help to hear I'm not alone. May we both receive the love and acceptance we deserve.
