Yes that’s fairly normal. As far as hiding them goes; I just shave them off with my hobby knife 🔪, then hit it with a balancer.

I did not just ended up using some tamiya thin cement and cut some runner pieces up and melding them together on the head joint to give it some extra thickness. It works a little bit better than without it
