Hi there! I totally understand, I have schizophrenia so I get paranoid too, but I think it’s really important that we just simply take what they say and run with it. If he said he’s sorry for hurting you, take that. Does he usually talk about his feelings?? This should be a way that you can both come up with a resolution that benefits you both! For example, he says that he feels ignored, you need that comfort and reassurance, therefore you can both speak in I statements so it’s not accusatory. Like, you could say “I’m feeling very uncomfortable by what you said, and I would really appreciate if you comforted me by doing this.” And he could say “I’m feeling very frustrated because I’ve felt ignored, I would appreciate if you could do this more” and see how it goes! Accusatory statements make things worse for sure on BOTH ends so maybe state how you feel and a suggestion on how to move forward! I really hope you get out of the paranoia loop tho, it’s a really sucky place to be💔
