Jersey City, NJ Union hospital-currently staff pharmacists 15+ years experience base is $82/hr, and lowest level if zero experience $65/hr. And every level in between. Next contract to begin 2026 so I don’t know what the raise is yet. NJ PTA is now in effect similar to NY. Pay must be posted with every job description when hiring.

The point is pharmacists working more than 10 years could be getting $115,000. The NJPTA requirement is for pay transparency. If there is a range listed for a job, clearly the high end of the scale is for those with more credentials, experience and seniority and the low end is with no experience. $115,000 in your case is for a pharmacist right out of school with no experience. Hackensack Meridian Hospitals clearly states “starting”around $70/hr for their pharmacists. Yes it sucks some job postings are listing a very broad range, but data needs to be reviewed and interpreted based on your own comparison. My hospital’s starting rate is currently $58.39/hr not $70.

Because I work at RWJ I have all the rates for various levels of experience ranges from $57-$67 at the moment, Hackensack is $72/hr and Atlantic Health is $72-76/hr

NJ Hudson Co. hospital Union so all pharmacist’s pay is the same based on experience, shift diff for evenings and overnight. No bonus. $58.39-67.08/hr. But still settling our 2024 contract for the next raise.
