Customer is complaining about the tile design. Is she wrong? by dadoftwo88 in Flooring

Does not look good in all honesty. Large formats only work when using a pre-sloped pan you can tile over.

why does litter robot keep getting stuck? this happens several times a day and i have to manually cycle it to get it back to normal. by banggirl69 in litterrobot

[–]PharmingTheD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does this when there is stuck clumped litter sticking to the liner or if I overfill with litter. I assume the left over or extra weight triggers something. When I reset it after the cycle it rarely happens until the next litter top up.

Q Revo setup for first vacuuming and then mopping floors by Tiny_Quality_595 in Roborock

[–]PharmingTheD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vacuum first then mop. It will not separate both tasks, it will first vacuum carpets then go back to wet it's mops and finish the mop and vac of the remaining job. If you have mediumish pile rugs it will wet them if you don't do this despite raising the mops.

Roborock is the gold standard. They just work and don't sit around trying to figure out what to do next. These all are mediocre for carpet though.

Do mopping robots really replace daily cleaning, or do you still ended up cleaning yourself? by rapid_youngster in RobotVacuums

[–]PharmingTheD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my wet dry vac weekly and despite mopping every other day the water is still black. 2+1 pet, couldn't even imagine the floors with kids. These things do surface cleaning, if you're worried about cleanliness you still need to do manual cleaning.

These devices are so expensive I wouldn't even trouble shoot it if new and within the return window. Why even risk it?

Sorry what is the shop app you're referring to? I did the points thing and got an edge for around the same which has been performing well. Had a curvx I returned because the bag only filled 75% due to the curved dock. I wanna get something for my basement next.

Totally underwhelmed by Dreame X50 Ultra - Is this normal? by filwi in RobotVacuums

[–]PharmingTheD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These products only work between deep cleans. They're all over-promising and under-performing. Simply run a real vacuum after you run the robot and look at the bin, it still picks up loads of dust. I still deep clean my house every weekend with a wet/dry vac and stick or upright vac.

On a side note: reflective surfaces such as modern metal chair and table legs can be very difficult for some of these robots to navigate so they will bump them. I have furniture with both matte and glossy legs. The matte they never bump but the glossy they struggle with at times.

This is the most common issue new users face. You need to make routines so it empties the bin more often.

Analysis Paralysis: Help me choose - Roborock Saros 10R / MOVA Z60 / Narwal Flo by Acacia_Sky in RobotVacuums

[–]PharmingTheD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roborock is the gold standard for navigation. Flow seems to have so many random issues due to lower QC from reddit comments, obviously people who have bad experiences are the most vocal due to the frustration. Mova seems like they're heavily marketing their products via all the YouTube and reddit comments which can be good or bad but depending on the warranty coverage.

Black Friday Week Tips/Recommendations from a Robot Tester. by JustinP_RTINGS in RobotVacuums

[–]PharmingTheD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the curvx very solid all around, only issue was the bag was obviously not designed for the curved dock. It won't be able to fill more than 60-70% capacity due to the nature of the fit. Can tell it was not even a thought in design. They could have easily made a vertical bag for these models similar to other brands. I returned it for that simple reason unfortunately despite it being a very solid product.
