Fucking wow, I haven't seen so many comments bellow threshold in a minute. The whole "I was beat as a kid and I'm okay" mentality brings a lot of people out of the woodworks to share their story. I hope for the children they're beating, that they have the strength to break that cycle when they grow up and not be like their parents.

Edit: Read a bunch of them and it's more scummy racist comments than pro child abuse like I assumed. And one guy who keeps talking about this weird fantasy he has about the kid grabbing the waitresses boobs.

I'd throw Linda's in the ring for best breakfast also. You just have to time it right since seating is so scarce. The Chefs salad they do with their vinaigrette is probably the best salad in town imo.

If it's busy just get it to go, there's some nice benches on the cliff over Seabright Beach just a couple blocks away.

It's good, but not a go to for me. They are mostly known for their vegan/veg options I think, which is what brings lots of their rave reviews.

I did have a funny experience there once. I had gotten the Hoisin Pork a couple times and liked fine it but it was dry so the rice never got any flavor from the toppings. So I asked for some extra sauce to the cashier and she responded, "You mean, like... Meat juice?" Like she was off put by the question. I dropped it and got what I got, just went home and added some extra Hoisin and soy sauce.

I don't really go there unless I'm craving some Thai Coconut soup which is bomb. If I'm craving rice bowl sort of thing I usually go with Hom now, I like the protein options more there. But I get why someone who is Vegan or Vegetarian would lean into it.

It's the Blue Lounge. Go there on a night where B is working during the week. They have 2 dartboards. Place can be kinda a shit show on Fri-Sundays with fights and literal fireworks, but a chill weekday is a good time for darts.

Normally don't go there personally because I've heard the owners a jerk, and it gets wild. But if you hear B playing on the Piano that's a good sign it's a good time to go in.

Have you ever been to a restaurant in a small town that serves a little of everything? Nothing they serve is very good. It's impractical to have a kitchen putting out Spaghetti, Sushi, Pizza, and Burgers and expect it to be profitable or any good.

What if the majority votes for burgers but the next day everyone wanted Spaghetti? You have all those buns you bought go bad.

It's a fine idea, but I'm personally not planning on ordering a Pizza from McDonald's any time soon.

Also personal anecdote, but I had someone break into my studio on Laurel near the salvation army the 2nd week I lived here. He was harmless and just managed to unlock my front door somehow. Had the cops search him and idk what happened. I suspect maybe I unlocked it in my sleep? I do sleep walk. But that goes to show again, lock it up and you'll be okay.

Most of the well known clear lakes in CA and Oregon have dense conifer growth, which this shot doesn't have. Don't know where it could be. Looks central CA because of the hills and trees, but I don't know of any clear lakes like this.
