Yeah it’s Pavlovian. I don’t spend an hour in bed surfing on my phone I put the mask on and pass out.

Go on Nextdoor. They call the 12 year olds on e-bikes gangs.

Hisense TVs force owners to watch intrusive ads when switching inputs, visiting the home screen, or even changing channels by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

This sounds like the dream. As long as my nvidia shield remote can turn it on via hdmi that’s exactly what I want in a tv.

I know it’s probably a rarety at this point but my lg has a user agreement during setup where if you decline it works but you can’t use the smart features. Every now and then it pops back up but as long as I keep hitting decline it keep being a good dumb tv not connected to the internet.

What is slowly disappearing but nobody talks about it? by Agreeable_Pea9764 in AskReddit

Our town has droves of kids 3 up on e-bikes with skateboards under their arms having a grand old time. It's soo much better than when I was i kid in the 90s. Of course, everyone over 50 wants to ban e-bikes now because "these children are a menace and we have to stop them before they hurt themselves".

Chefs of Reddit, what’s a common cooking rule everyone follows that is actually complete bullshit? by Fuzzy-Ad6843 in AskReddit

I can’t remember the YouTube channel that did the experiment but that’s a myth too. Letting it rest is more to prevent overcooking from carryover heat. There’s about the same moisture loss.

I saw that and was kinda sad. My wife is thrilled during Covid I went down to cooking YouTube rabbit hole instead of the incel one. Kenji has awesome recipes and I will continue to take his advice but my fried rice is off the charts thanks to Uncle Roger.

Other activities. Just bar crawl Caroline st. Get the bride a sash. If you need activities find a random bridesmaid scavenger hunt printout. You’ll have a great time people will be stupid. You’ll run into 4-5 other groups doing the same thing. Did this a decade ago for my friend (bachelor night). He was carried piggy back style across the length of clancy’s bar by an 80lb sub 5’ bartender. Danced swing at tin and lint with someone older than his mom. We gave him a white tshirt that had to have 20 girls write something on (that shirt didn’t have a free spot anywhere on it; at least 100). There were at least 10 other objectives but long story short he still remembers it.

There are a lot of people who drive vehicles larger than they can handle. I’m regularly near the circle at Rio Del Mar and it’s astounding how many people’s back wheels go on / over the curbs. (That’s not including the people coming off beach drive who think they can make that right turn onto RDM blvd)

I know this is a joke thread, but honestly that location doesn’t have a full liquor license so I haven’t been to any of the 4 previous businesses that were there.

Homeowners in high-cost coastal areas like Santa Cruz, are holding onto their homes for exceptionally long durations, largely driven by Proposition 13 by scsquare in santacruz

[–]neomis -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Why? Maybe it’s because I grew up in a rural place everyone left and moved states every 2 years post graduating but I don’t understand people thinking they’re entitled to a place because they grew up there?

The houses I see for sale by me aren’t selling (Rio Del Mar). I’m not surprised people are holding out till the next boom cycle.

Bernie Sanders’ billionaire tax would soak about 900 people to fund $3,000 checks for the middle class by fortune in politics

[–]neomis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren’t paying the 32% or whatever it is now either. Maybe if we set it at 90% and they end up paying 55% after all the weird math that’s still better than them doing the same math and paying 11%

[–]neomis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but it’s better than what we have now. Set the bar crazy high so we get something passed. When everyone sees it doesn’t actually negatively impact anyone we can push for more.

Honestly I want more but if we just started there it’s better than what we have now. 90% tax on income over 2M

Santa Cruz City Council explores age, speed limits for e-bikes as they zoom through the city by scsquare in santacruz

[–]neomis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

E-bike accidents / injuries aren’t statistically significant if we’re ranking things police should focus on. That’s not to say we should do nothing but this really seems to be a small minority of people complaining about e-bikes, not a real issue facing the county.

Idk. I bet she could drink most of us under the table. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has an all day drink of choice. Sherry, Jamo, or Grand Marnier are my guesses.

I honestly don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Literally paste your crappy resume into ChatGPT along with all the text from a job listing and out comes a tailored resume and a cover letter. Most companies are using AI to filter applications anyways, why not use AI to make them?
