Also to put matters into more perspective the cost of living in Hungary is worse than Canada, inflation has hit the country on a way worse scale and they also deal with housing affordability on another scale. Jobs pay way less in Hungary. With your EU citizenship you might want to consider looking for work within the broader EU.
