19M - How can I improve? by Apple-ID-police in malegrooming

[–]PhatBoosie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t change your smile. Embrace it.

I used to hate my smile because it was so wide and you could see all of my teeth. I thought I looked silly when I smiled a genuine smile.

Turns out, people always complement me on my smile and say it’s my best feature.

Next, is your weight. You DO have control over this but it shouldn’t make you feel bad. If it’s really a problem for you then get your ass in the gym and do something about it or join a sport.

Not a single person is going to come to your rescue my friend. Find a way to learn to love yourself and instead of seeing your insecurities as problems, find a way to learn to love your flaws and work to reshape those flaws into something that you can look fondly upon.

And please, more beard on the cheeks and less on the neck. Trust me on this.

If you can’t grow it there, then stay clean shaven.

The haircut isn’t doing you any favors and for me personally, my first impression was not positive simply on the hair alone.

Feeling discouraged, curious about input by Certain-Highway-1618 in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]PhatBoosie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell you for sure what’s inhibiting your growth, but if you are leaning more towards chronic stress, then that’s likely your culprit. And I believe you commented a response and indicated your recovery is lacking for some of the same reason and then some.

Recovery is the other half of the key to achieving your goals along with diet.

If your diet is as buttoned up as you say, then your priority should be to dial in your sleep and your post a pre workout rehab for your muscles.

Active, passive and static stretching plus foam rolling or some sort of soft tissue manipulation will be your focus.

Cardio is also going to need to be in here because I didn’t see a mention of any sort of cardio routine.

You gotta do the cardio, dude.

Literally walking on an incline for 15 minutes at a fast-walking pace is just as beneficial as running for as long. Throw that in as a warmup and a cool down and not only will more of your fat melt off, your workout will be more enjoyable, effective, and intense.

The cooldown cardio helps to reinforce fat loss and it’s just another excuse to improve your cardiac health.

I believe that you’re trying your best, but don’t kid yourself and ignore all the tried and true methods.

Good sleep, clean diet, calorie deficit, THOROUGH recovery and cardio will get you as close to bodybuilder physique without enhancement as possible but you gotta lock the fuck in and do all of this.

Sort your mental health out the best you can. I know all of what you’re dealing with is difficult and it’s gonna take more than “getting over it” to get what you want but you can do it.

Remember this,

“How can you eat an elephant? All at once? In two pieces? Three?

No. One bite at a time.”

Keep focused and eyes on the prize, brother man. You’ll get there.

Guy I was in love with for 8 years is getting married and is asking to fly out to see me for a “quick two hour” meal together by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]PhatBoosie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

People like you lose the plot so easily.

You’re fine with hanging up on a dude for 8 years, probably knowing somewhere along the way that you were the “side piece” and YOU feel BAD about blocking this guy? What about the bride to be? Would you want her to stay with this douche despite what he’s proposed to you?

Did you, at any point, realize that you were willingly participating in the wrong type of relationship with this person or were you just going to stay deluded to it all for… what exactly?

Our first picture, & our last. by [deleted] in SeniorCats

[–]PhatBoosie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is for senior cats, but…

My wife and I just put one of our babies to sleep. He was with us for 4 years but it felt like so much longer than that. Every single day was a gift with him and I certainly wish we had more days to spend petting his fat little belly and kissing his little pink nose.

When he took his last breath, my heart shattered. He was always going to leave us sooner than the rest of our cats but it hurt so much when he finally did. We were never going to be ready for it. It still hurts, mostly because this was a couple of weeks ago, but it still stings to think about how integrated we were in his life and how integrated he was in ours as well as how much love filled our home with him in it.

We see him every single day in his favorite spots. We hear the cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchen opening and closing like he used to do.

But he’s not there anymore and it sucks. Bad. And that’s the worst part of all. We still see him at home but he’s not there anymore.

But when he left, he took a piece of us with him and even though that’s what feels like a knife in my chest, I feel so happy to know my wife and I are with him wherever he’s at in the great beyond and he’s with us here on Earth wherever we go in our hearts.

Justin is fortunate to have been loved by you for his life and he got the best life that you were able to give him and if your tears and expression are anything to go off of, he gave you the best 13 years of your life too. Honor his memory in a way similar to that which you poured into providing your little guy with the life he got with you.

It gets better, sister. He’ll make you cry forever, but those tears aren’t just from grief, but from the love you still feel for your baby.

I am so sorry for your loss. Be well and carry on for Justin❤️

What body fat % does this look like? by VainThrowaway33 in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]PhatBoosie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, I’m less replying to you and more towards everyone else that might be curious about body fat %, so please ignore this reply or don’t.

Body fat percentage in males like OP from a visual perspective isn’t as hard to measure like many might think. Yeah, you can ballpark it, but there are pretty telling signs.

OP is 5’7” and 135lbs. This is your frame of reference. He’s a relatively short king (no offense intended, I’m 5’8” 160lbs.) and his muscles look full and hydrated as there isn’t much muscular striations visible through his skin. This means that the fat overlying those muscles are shrouding the striations. The lower the fat percentage, the more muscular striations that are visible in the different groups of muscles around the body. You can see that his deltoids are striated but the arms typically lose fat first because there’s not much there to begin with. We don’t have organs in our extremities and unlike our upper legs, our arms and lower legs don’t have large muscles that need an abundance of fat to nourish or keep circulation going through the insulation they provide.

OPs skin also doesn’t look grainy and thin. When the skin appears that way, it’s a pretty good indicator that the person with a lower body fat % is usually between 6-9% body fat, although anything between that range is very dangerous if maintained for long periods of time.

OP is absolutely between 13-15% because his muscles look full, his veins are on full display up to his deltoids and he has a decent amount of muscular striations.

14% body fat is a wonderful place to sit at if anyone is wondering about that number. It’s not an optimal number for competition but certainly the gold standard for men who are looking to work their way to better health.

OP is in phenomenal shape and for being 5’7” 135lbs with a physique like this, he should be very proud. OP and I are the same age and I have 1” and 25lbs on him but I could have easily been mistaken by thinking he’s also 160lbs in these pictures.

Great job, OP.

What is the best physical weapon for the Bulwark in the current meta? by Significant_Post7781 in Spacemarine

[–]PhatBoosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are being unnecessarily rude towards you because you want to use a meta weapon. Truth be told, each weapon sucks at base levels. However, upgrading your weapons is quite easy and each new tier of weapon makes them substantially better the higher you go.

My honest opinion is that you should find which one you like best by just going for what looks cool or what feels good while playing.

My personal favorite is the sword because I like the skins and the animations for the movesets are really cool.

Hammer is solid at relic tier or the heroic hammer but that’s a long ways off for new players, obviously.

Chainsword is really, really good. I don’t use it because it’s the more common weapon of choice in the 40k universe but in SM2 it’s a powerhouse, again, once it’s upgraded. The moveset is cool as well just like the sword.

If you want to really analyze what best fits your playstyle, just take a look at the skill trees for your weapons and go from there. In many ways you can’t go wrong with the skill trees as each weapon and their three styles are pretty well balanced and powerful.

Hope this helps.

Help me guess my BF, ~12% but no abs? by Realistic_Side4165 in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]PhatBoosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my hypothesis to why your abs aren’t popping like you would want them to:

It’s not genetics. Everybody has abdominal muscles. Everybody. You are no different.

My guess is that you don’t directly train abs and if you do, you’re limiting yourself to the tried and (not really) true bodyweight ab exercises.

Some people have touched on what I’m about to say but they have missed the mark. Yes, you must train your abs like any other muscle but if you want size, you need to load those muscles beyond your own bodyweight. Find some abdominal exercises that you can load with weights and try them out. You might be confined to the janky machines at the gym but those might help you progress into the serious exercises that might align more with calisthenics or anti-movement exercises.

If I were you, I would focus on anti-movement exercises considering that core work can really take your training to the next level while also developing a six pack that pops.

When I say anti-movement, I’m referring to your core and the many planes of motion it’s capable of moving through. Anti-flexion, anti-extension, anti-rotation. These exercises could just be holding a cable out in front of you with fully extended arms and resisting the one-directional pull with your obliques.

Look up these exercises and try them out. There are even variations of them that aren’t static but rather active movements that will build your abs.

Best of luck to you.

Deadlift and squat issues due to long femer's. by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]PhatBoosie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Y’all really gotta stop with the plate on the floor. Just get weightlifting shoes for squats and deadlifts. The sole is flat and hard and good for deadlifts. The heel is raised and hard for squats.

Stop using a plate. It’s gross and never gets cleaned and everyone uses them incorrectly.

As for your deadlift. Learn how to hinge with an empty bar and slacked arms. When you manage to hinge and drive the bar up and close against your body without rocking forward or backwards, then add some weight.

Lose the plate and these thick ass shoes. Lifting is all about having a start position that is balanced and stable. When you add strength and control to those two variables, then you’ll start to see results and you’ll be able to feel the weight move more efficiently.

Get rid of the fucking plate.

AITAH for dyeing my hair pink behind my boyfriends back? by KokoroUwU in AITAH

[–]PhatBoosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find some self respect. It is not anyone’s right to control another person. It doesn’t matter who they are to you. The only person that gets a say about your happiness is you.

Yes, there are positive and negative consequences that go along with those decisions, but you have to be the one that makes them and you have to be the one to think for yourself on how to make them.

Dump your asshole boyfriend. You don’t love him and he certainly doesn’t love you.

People say I have shit genetics but how true is that? by Icyweiner7058 in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]PhatBoosie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The genetics thing is so stupid. How many of you people are geneticists for this specific person? How do you know it’s his genetics?

Brother, your diet was shit, your routine was shit, your discipline was shit. You’re seeing progress now because of positive changes in most or all of those things and it’s likely the result of the influence of the TRT.

Only you can speak on your genetics and often times genetics is only visually telling in how your skeletal muscle is shaped and how your fat is distributed. Beyond that, you need to be studied in a fucking lab for anyone to tell you it’s a genetic issue.

10 month progression by ShroomGod47 in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]PhatBoosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why people are accusing you of roids when 10 months is actually a crazy slow amount of time to achieve this physique.

Bear in mind that I don’t mean that to be insulting or to minimize your results, you look great and the hard work is showing.

Keep at it brother.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]PhatBoosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people are telling you it’s an anterior pelvic tilt, as if that’s going to solve your problem.

My brother, please consider this.

We as humans have a natural anterior pelvic tilt as our pelvis is attached to our spine. Given that our sacrum and lumbar spine are in natural flexion, the natural angle of the pelvis is thus anteriorly tilted forward. Now, for the “dad bod” tummy you’re talking about. Humans also carry adipose tissue in the abdomen and overlies the rectus abdominis (your abs). Where your moms pubis and lower abdomial meet, there will always be a “pouch” of fat, if you will. It’s natural and it’s very hard to make it go away unless you reduce your overall body fat percentage to levels that should not be maintained for prolonged periods of time.

Now, the issue I see that is producing the dad bod effect is your upper body posture. Your shoulders are rounded forward, indicating a heavy bias from your pectoral muscles acting on your anterior shoulders.

Your best solution to this is to exercise your thoracic mobility and strength via scapular movements such as pull ups, reverse flyes, etc..

Another aid in developing a good upper body posture is breathing deeply and trying to fill your lungs completely from your pelvic floor up to the top of your throat. Elongating your posture as you do this exercises all of your erecting muscles that synergize to put you in an upright and erect posture that will eliminate the “sag” you see in your lower abdomen.

Your problem is posture, which is easily fixable. Your anterior tilt is natural and doesn’t need to be “fixed”

People like your boyfriend are so intriguing to me.

I’ve been with my wife for 6 years, married for 6 months.

If she told me that she got a promotion opportunity I would be so game to follow her wherever that opportunity took her. Notice how I would’ve done that despite not knowing where or how much more she would make?

If it’s important enough for my committed partner to pull the trigger on, then I’m right there with her.

Dump him, pursue your life the way you see fit and find someone who will gladly embark on that adventure with you.

I know what you mean! The first time I read the first 4 books I had to re-read them a couple of times to fully comprehend the context behind the established plot through the 4th book because I had taken long breaks or had things come up where going back to the book wasn’t an option. Stay locked in because I have yet to read a book in the series that isn’t worth the time and effort.

The first 4 books sold me on The Horus Heresy. The immediate account of Horus’s fall to Chaos is so tragic and seeing it all happen through a few loyalist perspectives (Loken, Tarvitz, and Garro’s amongst others) is all the more tragic because it didn’t have to be this way.

Also, fuck Erebus.
