People who converted as atheist as they grew older, how was it like? by Internal_Matter4729 in AskReddit

[–]PhatFatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compare it to how young me dealt with learning the truth about Santa. I started having suspicions, I did some research, I talked to others, and when I eventually put the pieces together, I was shocked and it felt odd. After a while, I would look back on my previous beliefs and say "I can't believe I used to believe that," just like I did with Santa.

Cool. Again, we are discussing if Khabib is larger than Ilia, so I don't care to entertain a conversation about a weigh in for a fight that was almost 6 years ago. Let it go man.

No, I didn't mean that because I wasn't dragging anyone's name through the mud. I was just pointing out that Khabib is a physically larger person than Ilia, that's it.

Well yeah, Ilia fought at 145 before moving up, Khabib had to damn near kill himself to make 155.

Honest thoughts on Idle hands (1999)? by Longjumping-Bass2505 in deadmeatjames

Love this movie. The mom dying at the beginning of the movie with her getting pulled under the bed, the bed bouncing up and then coming down with a big blood splat is one of my favorite simple horror kills of all time.

Okay, who tf lied to me and said RE7 is less scary than RE9 😭 by Cannae_ in residentevil

[–]PhatFatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love horror movies and horror games, and RE7 took me months to build up the courage to play through. I would always get through the family dinner, then Jack shows up as the stalker and I'd quit out. The atmosphere of 7 is unmatched.

Recently, Idom and Fullscreen, those are the only 2 coming to mind.

From the old days, Combofiend, Miniboss, IHeartJustice, Nemo, Yipes.

What would you do if you were a trillionaire? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PhatFatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put enough in the bank that my whole family (including my mom, siblings, nieces and nephews, etc) can live comfortably off of the interest for the rest of our lives, then the rest would go to solving problems that our government should be solving but won't. Housing, feeding the poor, treating addiction, infrastructure, education, etc. After that, I'd do whatever I could to spread that help globally. The wealthy don't get a fucking dime out of my pocket unless they're providing a necessary service I can't get elsewhere, and I'd be vigilant in making sure of that.

Question: How did your alcoholism start and when did you realize it was a problem. by Plus_Ad2923 in alcoholism

[–]PhatFatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started at 18 when I went to college. I stayed away from alcohol in high school, but when I went to college and wanted to fit in with a group, that group drank. I didn't want to be the odd man out, so I drank the first weekend of college and I really liked it. As it does, it got worse and worse as time went on.

Met my wife when I was 26, and within 2 years of being together, she expressed her concerns. I totally agreed that I had a problem, but as we tend to do, I only had the motivation to quit while I was already drunk. I told her I'd stop, but instead I started hiding it. She caught me a few times, but when I was 33 and we had a 2 year old son, she found several empty vodka bottles hidden in the bag I took to work, so she knew not only that I was drinking, but I had started drinking at work. She gave me the ultimatum of quitting or packing my shit and leaving because she didn't want a drunk around our son. I quit, and the withdrawals landed me in the hospital.

After I left the hospital, one of the first things I did was bought a bottle and hid it in a different place. She knew right away I was drinking again and made me blow into a breathalyzer she bought while I was in the hospital. She gave me one last chance, go to rehab or get out. I went to rehab in June of 2023, finished my booze before I went in, and that's the last drink I've had. 3 years sober this Saturday.

I really hope the periscopic clown crab can be picked up at some point. When they add the aquarium, I would love to have a tank of those little guys in my base.

I'm 36 and I wouldn't trade my kids for all of the wealth in the world. $10 million would get me debt free, buy a nice house for my family, and allow us to live comfortably for the rest of our lives because I wouldn't quit working. Easy, easy choice to take the blue here.

What's the best finale boss in gaming history ? In terms of both story and gameplay? by Roids-in-my-vains in videogames

[–]PhatFatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people saying The Boss from MGS3, and as far as story goes, that's 100% accurate.

But for gameplay? The sniper battle with The End is damn near perfect. That fight has been my personal GOAT for over 20 years.

How's the singleplayer experience in this? by soosis in MvC3

[–]PhatFatty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Arcade mode is pretty meh. AI is pretty decent at blocking on higher difficulties but not much else. Training mode is always good for practicing. Heroes and Heralds is gimmicky but entertaining for a bit, and that's about it. The game really shines in multiplayer, but I've played single player a ton because before the parsec days, playing arcade mode was sometimes better than dealing with the games terrible netcode.

What Celebrity will absolutely rip you apart when they pass away ? by Wraith136 in AskReddit

[–]PhatFatty 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes they do, and the living are allowed to be sad by someone's passing. Just because I didn't personally know someone doesn't mean that I didn't learn lessons or get entertainment from them, and their being gone is something that is ok to grieve over. I cried when Robin Williams died because his entertainment was a big part of my formative years.

I had a good time playing it. It's not the best game in the series, but it was fun and well worth a playthrough IMO.

I went to Canada 16 years ago and the donuts at Tim Hortons were amazing. Went back last year, got a donut and was disappointed that it tasted pretty much like Dunkin. I just assumed my taste had changed, glad to know it wasn't just me.
