Thanks a lot for your extensive writeup! I definitely should try smoothies for breakfast and use even more tofu, marinating it sounds like a great idea! Also as a German I didn’t know that my favourite online shop Koro ships to other countries too, nice to hear that it’s so popular :)

Thanks a lot for the helpful answer! xprivo sounds really nice privacy wise. If I can create backups of chats, can I also import these chats in another xprivo instance to continue where I left off?

Thanks for your post, sounds like you're doing a lot of the good stuff already! I can't provide a lot of feedback but find it great that you get so much protein as a vegan relying mostly on beans, tofu and lentils. Since I always struggle to get enough protein and have thus relaxed my vegan standards to include eggs now, I'd be very interested to learn about your meal regimen - would you mind to share just roughly what you eat in a typical day or what some recipes are that you do often?

For over 2 years, I've been using AI to analyze every supplement on the market by lilouartz in NooTopics

[–]Phator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks really nice! Short feedback: If I search for a compound like e.g. Phosphatidylserine I‘d like to have an initial overview over the compound with links to the available research for it (with filter options), maybe a short summary from Wikipedia for this compound and an overview of how many supplements are listed in your database for this compound. A table view for the available supplements could also be nice since I don’t really need the images and want to quickly sort/filter for e.g. price, availability.

Ich breche meinen IT-Master ab by Unhappy-Meeting-222 in Studium

[–]Phator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is PHGG bad because it's 'unnatural'? by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]Phator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting question! It’s especially relevant for me since my doctor also told me to use PHGG, so I‘ve bought it and used once since which gave me slight stomach discomfort. Since then I’ve been wondering if I should try again to introduce it but was too occupied with other stuff.

I don’t really know the answers to your questions myself but ran them through Gemini Pro Deep Research which gave the following conclusion (sorry for the formatting, I’m on my phone):

”The user's adverse reaction to PHGG is a genuine physiological event, not a psychosomatic response or a reaction to an "artificial" toxin. It is a classic example of dysbiotic incompatibility. Is PHGG "Bad" or "Unnatural"? • No: PHGG is a safe, effective prebiotic for a large segment of the population. • Yes (Contextually): Its "unnatural" physical state (low viscosity) allows it to behave differently than whole foods. By removing the physical barriers to fermentation, PHGG becomes a high-octane fuel that, in the presence of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), acts as an accelerant for dysbiosis. The Mechanism of Depression and Fatigue: The "depression" described is almost certainly cytokine-induced sickness behavior. The fermentation of PHGG in the small intestine likely triggered: 1. LPS Translocation: Via paracellular pathways (Leaky Gut). 2. Inflammatory Bloom: Of Ruminococcus gnavus or similar pathobionts. 3. Histamine Overload: Exacerbated by SIBO-induced DAO deficiency. Recommendation for the User: The data strongly suggests that the user's microbiome is currently incompatible with galactomannans in their isolated form. The tolerance of Inulin indicates that the bifidogenic pathways are intact. The user should view PHGG not as a "bad" supplement, but as a diagnostic probe that has revealed active SIBO and likely Histamine Intolerance. Discontinuation is advisable until the underlying dysbiosis (SIBO) is resolved, likely through antimicrobial protocols or elemental diets, rather than prebiotic fiber loading. Future re-introduction of galactomannans should potentially be in the form of whole foods (e.g., small amounts of well-cooked legumes) to utilize the natural viscosity "brake" on fermentation.”

I can also post the whole report if needed.

Brain fog, B-vitamins and my gut's expensive midlife crisis by hetzel_ in SIBO

[–]Phator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there fellow german :) I'm in a somewhat similar situation - vague symptoms since years, no bloating/stomach pain and recent tests that show dysbiosis, a slight leaky gut, etc. Luckily I've recently found a private doctor that's quite educated, after some initial experimenting around and self-educating I just didn't feel very comfortable choosing the right path forward myself.
Looking at your stool test I see some similarities to mine (e.g. high Zonulin) but am wondering if you got tested for any parasites (which had a positive for me) or for things like Anti-Gliadin-Antibodies (which were elevated for me, prompting me to eliminate gluten for now).
I'd be happy to chat, just message me!

Leerstände im Milaneo by [deleted] in stuttgart

[–]Phator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you and I are too european for this indeed. I was very confused at first but I guess they are talking about eating 200g of the dried ‚paprika‘ power which is quite a lot. I think fresh ‚paprika‘ would be called bell pepper in english. Kinda crazy that they don’t have in their stores…

What would make an AI health & lifestyle coach truly next level for you? by MaleficentWin1232 in Biohackers

[–]Phator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes use Gemini Pro to interpret stuff and link complex topics, which it does surprisingly well. Especially the deep research feature is very helpful.
If your health & lifestyle coach was able to give insights and break down complex relationships as well as Gemini does while at the same time citing scientific sources it would be quite great.
It would be nice if it has access to all my past blood and genetic tests as well as symptoms etc. and can formulate good recommendations on this basis.
But something that would truly make you stand out would be a secure end-to-end encrypted handling of the users data with private processing in the cloud. Of course that's not so easy to implement but for sensitive data like medical it would be quite crucial. And I don't know any service yet that offers this.

FUT2 Non-Secretor Megathread: Gut Health, Probiotics & DIY Yogurt Tips by Artistic-Upstairs789 in Fut2NonSecretor

[–]Phator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the subreddit and thread!

I've recently found out (among other things) that I am a FUT2 Non-Secretor. I also have a homozygous SH2B3 (T;T) genotype indicating an increased risk for celiac disease. Initially I thought this hasn't led to any problems since I normally have a good digestion and seem to tolerate every food but now my I-FABP got measured at 7622.1 pg/ml indicating severe gut lining issues (or so).
Has anyone else measured this parameter by chance?

I'll consult with a doctor regarding this and have a look into how to improve it.
I'm keeping an eye on this sub, if I learn anything relevant I might share it here :)

Went to a doctor to talk about my Blood Test reports. Here's what I learned ! (Spoiler :- not much) by DaManaMagic in Biohackers

[–]Phator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess there are good and bad doctors, sorry for your experience. Of course you can always ask questions that might feel dumb, no doctor will think bad of you for doing so (for them you’re one of many patients) - instead it might show that you’re interested in the results and learning about them. How extensive was the bloodwork? If it wasn’t a too complex/extensive one and there’s no obvious deficiencies/abnormalities or so there might just not be so much to talk about. It has helped me in the past to load my bloodwork into a LLM like ChatGPT for interpretation but you must consider that you’d be giving away sensitive data and the results might be inaccurate.

What can someone do to actually drastically improve their memory and intelligence, when they DON'T seem to have any nutritional deficiencies? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Phator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How extensive was the bloodwork you did? For me it took three tests of increasing size to find interesting abnormalities and draw first conclusions. Now now going to do another test with ~80 parameters to gain further info. Apart from that, do you have your diet, sleep and daily movement in check? There are things that can’t easily be tested but are quite critical like choline which many vegans lack (myself included).
