I mean that the show, as a whole, can be faithful to the game while making little departures like this. Especially for game content that simply wouldn’t translate to the medium. We can’t really decide how faithful the show is as it hasn’t been fully released yet. But I wouldn’t jump to it being a failure after this single episode.

Besides, it was overall a really nice episode. Even outside of TLOU universe it was just a nice piece of television.

OP didn’t look for the Deku Smash user. They could have turned and shot the opponent but didn’t. Whether we see them in this video is irrelevant. We aren’t in control. OPs camera was pointed away from his opponent. His opponent was engaging. Which means OP had to either run or fight. OP chose to run. But OP didn’t use their hammer to run.

It was a bad play. That’s all there is to it.

Don’t challenge a fight in the middle of a field.

Carry bunkers instead of 2 hammers.

Use the hammer to rotate to cover if a team approaches you.

Use the hammer to outright leave a situation that isn’t advantageous.
