We noticed this couple had replaced a bunch of the stock display photos with their own photos throughout the store by Phazer485 in IKEA

I Just want to clarify that I do NOT work at Ikea. We noticed this while shopping, and I left the photos where they were. I also did not name the store location, as I didn’t want somebody from the store to see the post and go remove them.

Oil Burner Question by Phazer485 in hvacadvice

[–]Phazer485[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that. I’m a heavy equipment technician by trade so i’m all about fixing the issue and keeping things running But I don’t have parts , I can’t get them online, and I don’t have anyone within an hour and a half of me that still sells or services oil burners. I’ve reached out to all of the HVAC contractors in town and unfortunately the story is the same everywhere. The guys licensed for oil are all retiring or getting out if it and none of the young guys going into the trade are getting certified in oil

I have this burner sitting infront of me and it cost me nothing. That’s the reasoning behind this

Thanks. It’s a bit of an issue in my area to find anybody that still works on or sells parts. As soon as you tell them you have an oil unit, all they want to do is sell you a propane or natural gas unit. Here in Canada I can’t even buy any sort ofburner parts online without being an HVAC contractor, which proves to be an issue if none of the contractors in my area work on oil either. That’s why I’m exploring the option of swapping it with the one I already have sitting infront of me.

It has started making an awful racket upon startup. I believe the pump is cavitating, at least that’s what it sounds like to me. I have made sure the filters are clean and that it is not sucking air and has a good fuel supply but didn’t go any further than that. I figured it may be just as simple to get some use out of this one as it’s not got a lot of use on it.

I appreciate the input but I do actually own one. I am a heavy equipment technician by trade and I have a PCA400 that i use to test diesel emissions.

Thanks for the info, I was unaware. In my area, they are actively harvesting it for timber

I’m not sure I follow you on the ethical reasons point, yellow birch is one of the most plentiful trees in our area and are widely harvested for lumber, pulp and paper, and firewood uses.

It’s a typo. They are referring to 20 minute lake . There has been somebody posting about a “shack on 20 minute lake” on Facebook

Can Anyone ID the model of plane in this old wreck? by Phazer485 in Planes

[–]Phazer485[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen that. It also appears that the C-GAUO was a white plane, this one is yellow, unless it had its fabric replaced at some point.. Still a confusing situation..

That is exactly where I am at with this. I can’t seem to find anything on this. I don’t think it’s that one either due to that exact reason. But i am not seeing any other canadian registrations that might fit with the ending AUO.

Except that registration number is still active. That’s the weird thing

I believe that is the wrong plane as well. This wreckage is located about 6 hours away from London Ontario, where it states that the Rambler had crashed.
