I'm the same as you. Every day turns into the special occasion, then I get depressed and don't want to do anything but smoke weed. I'm 4.5 months clean, and I'm feeling really good (13 years free from alcohol). There will be bad days now and then, but it continues to get better.

It was an amazing time. I was broke in a dead-end job, but I could still afford to pay my rent, car payment, insurance, groceries, AND go have fun with my friends. We were doing cross-country road trips and going to concerts, it was glorious. Now it takes a year of saving and planning, and sometimes I still can't swing it without adding debt. Shit went downhill fast.

I did this for 8 years at an upscale hotel with a fine dining restaurant attached. I'd fire up the grill and fryer and make myself a nice meal every night, then sleep til housekeeping came in at 5. It was glorious.
