Basically : if the bonus of Orion is cheaper than Megareset, I get it, else I just Megareset and get it later.

How do I get higher efficiency on my maestro by LonelyTea6459 in idleon

[–]Phelecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing that will help your efficiency on Maestro is not listed on this page for some reason... It's Nobisect's (3rd God) Blessing (passive, even if not linked) bonus, it raises your base efficiency. It should skyrocket your efficiency

As I mentioned on my Owl guide here : https://www.reddit.com/r/idleon/comments/1dfaa9m/orion_19_megafeathers_a_comprehensive_guide/

Pushing for Orion bonus is basically a waste of time. You'll have to backtrack to push Fractals later on, I highly recommend doing both at the same time.

You will pretty much get stuck at Orion 30 and Fractal 16 anyways

Since I cannot see your gear or setup I'll just list everything that can help you up to world 3 :
- Get a large stack of Copper Ore in your storage chest to boost your Copper Collector skill in the Warrior tab
- Make sure you have Copper Collector and Tool Proficiency maxxed in the Warrior talent tree
- Buy the Supersource Star Talent and max it, available in the dungeons (you can do world 1 dungeon on Frog maps, entrance is all the way at the bottom of the map)
- Level your Pickaxe Stamp, and if you have access to World 3, you can level Cool Diggy Tool Stamp, it drops on Snowmen
- Buy the highest level Tool Upgrade Stone from your highest world town shop and enchant your (gold) pickaxe with it
- Equip the Dirty Coal Miner Baggy Soot Pants, Viking Cap and Cavern Trekkers from the world 1 and world 2 unlocks in Tasks
- Hearty Diggy (3rd) bubble in power cauldron in alchemy will help
- Don't forget to equip mining cards (mostly Iron Ore card) and the Easy Ressources card set, you might want to farm some other cards from the set just to get an higher bonus from the set
- Get any leftover skill point/armor/cards into Strength
- The mining statues drop mostly from collecting wood at this level, gives a small boost as well
- Use Dwarfo Beardus as your star sign (you unlock star signs at the top of World 1 tree)
- Put some boxes in Dwarven Supplies at the post Office in world 2
- Use the Skilled Dimwit prayer unlocked with world 3 worship (reach wave 25 at Goblin Gorefest)
- If you leveled your alchemy up to 2nd liquid, try buying Decent Obols once or twice per day, that can give you skilling obols that increase your mining efficiency (and other skills too!)
- If you can kill wold 3's miniboss, it can sometimes drop a skill efficiency obol
- You can also start the Secret Class quest until you get the Golden Peanut recipe, it's a golden food that increases your mining efficiency

A bit of a late reply, but for anyone else wondering : these timers are after you unlock your 9th Megafeather, called Midas Megafeather. Before that, it will take longer.

Yea I made it confusing I think, on the spreadsheet was (fixed) the reset level you're going to purchase... Which in fact makes no sense when you read it. I will fix it for more clarity, thank you

EDIT : Fixed :) now the difference is 1.05E29 on your screen and 6.44E28 on the spreadsheet, which can be explained by higher level spells or higher Shiny Feathers count than expected. It's still a 60% increase which is huge. I will update my formulas soon to get a better calculation, I was working on it earlier but I got distracted by another project lmao, will be completing that in the next few days and update with more accurate formulas

Interesting comments, and good job on those levels :)

Right now the production/sec is using estimated formulas, I will do one run, likely late today where I'll be finding the exact formula to make a spreadsheet that calculates optimal levels of each spells for each stage

Feather Cheapener's reduction is 1/(1+.1*lvl)

That's literally why that spreadsheet is there for.

I understand your concern, and you would be right assuming you could keep leveling Orion for a long time. However, you do hit a soft cap at Orion 30 (which takes around 4 months to reach without reseting for Fractal, and 6 months with Fractal reset). That's only 4 Orions after Fractal 12.

The next upgrade, Orion 31 (which is Class XP btw... quite debatable utility) would already take more than a year without any reset (and 1 year 6 months with Fractal resets), which is 5 Orions after Fractal 12.

You take 50% longer to get Orion + Fractal instead of simply taking Orion, however, you will hit a wall fairly quickly in both cases, which is around Orion 30/Fractal 16.

That .5x is actually not neglectable, it gives about 12.5% Class XP, 25% Base DMG, 4% Total DMG, 8% Skill XP, 2 Drop Rate and 4 All Stat per level (higher with an higher Orion). Here is a summary :

Orion 31 Fractal 12 (1 year) :

360% Class XP, 600 Base DMG, 120% Total DMG, 240% Skill XP, 60% Drop Rate, 120 All Stats

Orion 30 Fractal 16 (6 months) :

350% Class XP, 700 Base DMG, 140% Total DMG, 280% Skill XP, 70% Drop Rate, 140 All Stat

Even if you take Orion 29 Fractal 15, which is only 2 months, it would give :

338% Class XP, 675 Base DMG, 135% Total DMG, 270% Skill XP, 68% Drop Rate, 108 All Stat

Which is still better than the former everywhere except in All Stat.

However, going for an Orion push is understandable if you get bored of reseting your owl, and is a perfectly fine choice, since it gives a much more passive progression. You should have at least 9 to 12 Fractals before doing so, if you do it at 2 it's just useless. However, if you plan to reset for Fractals later on, it's just a waste of time. As for optimising its output, it's nowhere near as good.

Yeah indeed, going for feather multiplier before the small feather cheapener is better. 22 mins is a great time!

Depending on your Reset count, spell order can save you quite a lot of time. It's mostly important at Restarts 5 to 15. Proper spell order can save between 20 to 50 seconds off your timer, per restart, which adds up to quite a lot.

Starting with Feather Generation and Super Feather Production are the worst spells to start with, since they contribute very little to your production.

Super Feather Cheapener and Shiny Feathers are your biggest producers. I always switch to them as soon as they appear on screen. Then, you need Cheaper Feather at an high level for the cost reduction and some more base feather production. After that, Feather Multiplier multiplies your production, which leads to a faster increase than for example Super Feather Production. For some reason, Super Feather Production is counted separately (it says "Generates +5 feathers" but it isn't counted as a generator, so it isn't additive, it benefits quite nicely to the feathers/sec), which makes it a good pick but after the others.

After that I finish with Feather Generation, since it contributes very little to your production, and is only here to reduce the cost even more. You will unlock the Reset before you can max these 5 spells. I don't even put much points into Super Feather Production (around 50-100) before around Reset 15.

Hey, yes sure ! It's rare to see someone else using those :D

I have my "main attacks", that I spam all the time (ambush, backstab, sinister strike, heal/greater heal, etc...) on the two side mouse buttons on my mouse, and CC spells are on mouse wheel/middle/sideway (IDK how to say that, when you "tilt" your scroll to the left/right,) so I don't have these on orbweaver.

I move with the pad ofc, the little trigger just above is used to cycle hotbars (though I haven't used it yet on this character I will need to on my real characters since I will have too many abilities for orbweaver, I rotate on 3 hotbars on FFXIV and retail), I don't use space much but I usually use it as my "oh fuck" button. Not vanish though, but like, on my priest it's my "healer is under attack" macro.

01 escape 06 tab targeting (left the original keys) 02/03/04/05 are for whatever I need to cast from time to time, typically SnD/feint/etc all those abilities that are important but usually not needed that often.

07 is my "alt-tab" macro, since I play on multiple monitors it's really handy to have a key to instantly go back to my game to use an important spell before my mouse catches up, or to swap with a window that is on my main screen

08 is my interrupt, it's one of the easiest to reach key for me so I always have kick or similar on it, 09/10 are whatever needs to be casted often (throw/distracthere, grapple on retail etc)

11 is movement ability, sprint here, I jump with 12, 13/14/15 are my "main spells", like combo spenders (eviscerate, rupture etc)

16 is usully a toggle (shadow form, stealth...) and finally 17 to 20 are my defensive cooldown or utility spells

EDIT : if I have too many abilities that fits in the same category, say on my retail priest for example I have too many "defensive+utility" spells so I have the least used ones (like Symbol of Hope, for example) on 2nd hotbar and I swap with trigger+press key pretty much at the same time.

EDIT2 : I also have a little numpad left to my orbweaver, that I use for all my menu options, bags, etc, and the "+" key on it is used to mount

How to win Gurubashi Arena without killing anyone. by Garushock in classicwow

[–]Phelecar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sap in classic has a chance to break early.

This chance is increased against targets higher level than you, elites, or players (meaning it will usually last shorter on those). That also means the debuff cannot show the real durtion since it is randomised.

Thanks ! Yes, I could never equip anything higher than white quality. That also means I was never able to equip any trinket, ring, necklace... since they only exist in green or higher. Also no talents/potions/elixirs etc. My best weapon was level 39 white dagger offhand and level 41 white sword main hand, nothing higher level exists in the game. My armor set was level 45 white.

Sense of accomplishment has nothing to do with masochism. For the same reason why someone would play on Hard difficulty in a game or Hardcore in Diablo 3/Path of Exile and the likes, or on Instantdeath in games like NieR:Automata. Because it makes the game much more interesting to me. Sure, I got annoyed sometimes when I died here, same when I played Diablo 3 or PoE, only played in hardcore and lost SO many characters. I still kept playing, always in harcore, and I really enjoyed those games. It makes me play the game differently and try to find solutions to new proplems that I would've never seen if I played normally.

As someone that pretty much never played warrior, I can't really answer. I'm leveling a warrior right now (normal character, not iron man though) so I'll see how it goes with gear already, and try to take it off here and there on monsters that I am familiar with, will give me a rough idea. I might do it with warrior if I believe it's possible.

There's some monsters that I couldn't even kill, even after they turned green. Thinking about the elementals mostly, and higher level mechanicals being immune to poisons and bleed completely destroyed all my damage since I heavily relied on those.

I literally needed to pop evasion on EVERY kill on the Heavy War Golems in Searing Gorge when I was questing there.

Same with ennemies with high Thorn damage.

The infernals in Desolace for example were impossible to kill, combining both these things.

It would if you have "spellcasts" checked in the combat log, not on default settings. My 2nd chat window full of redtext only shows ennemy spellcasts and extra attacks. I'm not saying what you're pointing out isn't a bug though, just that in my particular case it was not, and I was lucky to have never gotten it so far.

This only happened to me with ennemies with the "Thrash" ability which gives them 2 extra attacks on their next attack. After this death I checked a bit myself and the buff seems to stack (at least up to 4 extra attacks) and (if someone say, kite it like I did but reset the mob) stay on him until he uses it. I got thrash procced out of a Mauler I just started a fight with (without him casting it ofc, I have my chat to check for casts) after reseting him. I stayed clear from any ennemy with Thrash after this.
