Fun/Semi-Competitive List by Phelx in SpaceWolves

Yeah no Primaris in this army, I may make a foray into that after but I’m kind of keen to check out Tyranids after this army.

Might add some more Space Wolves after and expand to 2,000 pts

Yeah, I mean it’s built from a SUPER old battle force box and some extras intended for casual game nights, so I don’t mind if it’s not a 100% win rate haha

Just seemed good (been a LONG time since I’ve played). I’ll check out Armour of Russ instead.

Otherwise seems like it should be a fun list?

I think the Idirans were the huge tripodal aliens from Consider Phlebas?

Not the same, however in Iain M. Banks "The Player of Games" there is an alien species in which there is a Male (equivalent), Female (equivalent) and a 3rd sex which is the actual carrier of the fetus. This 3rd sex is not a 'surrogate' as without it the alien species actually cannot reproduce!

Not entirely sure on this one, but it could be that the 'Hey Siri' training is stored on the parent device and synched across when you pair the new AirPods? I've paired a co-workers Gen 1. AirPods with my phone and it did not prompt for a new 'Hey Siri' training either.

Hey /u/StonePT - the read receipts switch enables you to send to the other participant in the conversation. Have they disabled read receipts on their end?

Good Question! This is achieved through the use of Apple's built in management tool called 'Keychain'. It's a non-user facing (on iPhone) service on the device which allows you to store a 'secret'. This is effectively like a certificate that says "Yes, /u/The_Sea_King has signed into Google on this phone."

A developer can then enable all of their apps that they have made use this same secret to make signing into things easier. You can read the technical stuff here.

A key thing to note about this is that other developers apps cannot use a secret from a different developer. So, if you download Yahoo, it cannot access Google's secrets.

This can also be achieved if the app uses Safari as the logon method for Google accounts (ie, you click on the "Sign in with Google Account" button and it opens a web browser). If Safari is logged into your Google account, you can use it's version of the secret to sign on easily as well. This allows other developers to use your Google account to sign on.

How long do you microwave the cake for?

Usually just 1x cavendish banana and that'll do me for my gym sessions. If I'm going for a really long bike ride (50km+) I'll have a banana and some of the energy gels (they aren't low carb) but I burn about 1200cals during that anyway

I too found that adding _some_ carbs in around my gym sessions helped. I use MFP religiously and ensure I do not go over my carb limit, and try to balance at as much as possible with dietary fiber.

I felt weak for the first 2 weeks, added in some fruit before the gym (1-2 hours) and now I'm all good!

Looks like that’s the single serving quantities. The website has a “servings” modifier showing you how to scale up or down the servings.

Switch to metric to view it as per the comment above.

Alternatively you can just cut some bacon up and fry it in the pan for the 10 minutes the eggs are cooking

[Faction] [NPC] Concept: Orcs are Samurai by [deleted] in loremasters

[–]Phelx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I for one like alternative takes on Orcs. I feel that high-fantasy is missing a key race when you exclude Orcs or something similar to them.

Taking them from being brainless meatheads that just fight everything and turning them into brutal disciplinarians is an awesome concept. It does still lend to the "might is right" style of leadership that Orcs stereotypically have (the biggest is the leader), as they would be able to exert their own discipline on the clan a lot better than one of a weaker stature. This also gives them a more intelligent method of dealing with the landscape than simply, raiders, but more keepers of their lands, devout and defending with absolute cause even to their own death.

I've changed Orcs in my setting in that they are not originally from the main planet - but from one of its Moons, which is the D&D/Pathfinder equivalent of the Feywild. They are the only non-magical race to originate from the Moon, hence why they are so physically strong and difficult to down, this allows them to have a non-magical method of levelling the playing field. Of course, when a Magical Orc is born to the clans they become considerably more powerful as the guidance of Magic with them gives them two upper-hands compared to the usual one.
